How to use eyebrow corrector

Greetings, dear readers!

Many of us apply makeup to our faces every day. Some limit themselves to lipstick, others to eye shadow or mascara. But now, more than ever, an ideal, even complexion is in fashion, and various decorative products can help us achieve it.

What is eye concealer for? I will try to answer this question in this article. In fact, there is a little confusion here because there is also a concealer, as well as the foundation itself. But first things first.

Concealer - what kind of decorative product is it?

First of all, I would like to say that concealer is not a mandatory product and many girls get by with just one foundation. The main function of concealer is to mask imperfections under the eyes, because its texture is much denser and there is much more pigment in it than in foundation.

Basically, the concealer has a liquid consistency and comes in a tube similar to lip gloss, but it can also have a creamy texture, located in a special jar. And the color can vary from light beige to dark beige. When choosing a concealer, it is advisable to give preference to a lighter shade, about half a tone.

The concealer copes very well with dark circles around the eyes, removes bruises, and makes the look rested and fresher.

The only exception is reflective concealers. Since they are applied in a light translucent tone and due to their texture they will not be able to cover very noticeable circles under the eyes, but they can be used during the day to correct makeup.

Therefore, if you haven’t gotten enough sleep, are tired, are sick, and need to look great, then you should think about purchasing a product such as a concealer. Despite its dense pigmented consistency, if it is correctly matched to the skin color, it is completely invisible on the face.

More expensive options may contain:

  • vitamins;
  • antioxidants;
  • various moisturizing components.

How to use eyebrow corrector

There are two main types of eyebrow correctors. They can be transparent or have a coloring effect. The first ones are used to give the desired shape and fix it for a long time. The composition of such cosmetics may include substances for restoring hair and stimulating its growth, as well as vitamin complexes.

When purchasing caring cosmetics, you can not only create makeup, but also take care of your arches. Often transparent products are purchased if the color is naturally bright, the hair is thick but unruly, and you need to style it carefully.

Correctors with paint are used to fix the shape and give the desired shade. There are many colors to choose from. The shade should match the tone of the hair, then the makeup will look natural. Colors should not differ by more than 1-2 tones.

Most quality concealers have a light texture that spreads evenly onto the hair, separating it. Typically, correctors are sold complete with a brush, which is convenient for distributing the composition.

To use the composition, it is not necessary to have special skills. The technique is not difficult to master. You first need to create the correct contour and make a correction by removing excess hair that extends beyond it. The line is painted with smooth strokes, starting from the tail of the arc. The shade of the base should be lighter than that of the tip. There is no need to apply a large amount of product at once; it needs to be evenly distributed over the eyebrow.

One of the popular pigment correctors is MAC.

It has 3 shades. The advantage is that the composition is easy to apply, it is well distributed throughout the hairs, and does not have a strong aroma. Another product is Pupa. It is used as a fixative and gives a natural and even tone. The disadvantage of using it is that there is a slight smell that quickly disappears.

Eveline corrector is available in two shades - brown and black. The product has a light texture, allows you to color your hair with high quality, and fixes the shape for a long time.

How is concealer different from corrector?

The corrector can have different colors in its palette and it allows you to disguise various problems that exist on the skin. Color correctors are usually applied before foundation, and nude correctors are applied after it and spot-on.

In decorative cosmetics stores, they usually do not differentiate between these products, so it can be confusing, this arises due to the fact that these products are called differently in different countries. But in Russia, concealer is applied primarily under the eyes.

How to make a green face concealer with your own hands

Green corrector. Experiment

Redness corrector

Theory

I decided to make myself a green corrector that would mask red spots, blood vessels and other things on my face that I would like to hide. Why green? Yes, because green, when superimposed on red, neutralizes the red color. By the way, this is the principle of any proofreader. For example, pigment spots are well masked by a bluish-violet color corrector. In order to determine what exact shade of camouflage we need, we should study the color wheel. Here he is.

Each color is a different wavelength. Therefore, our eye perceives it in different colors. And if we put opposite colors on top of each other, we will get a white tint, apply foundation or foundation powder on top, and our redness, freckles - all this will not be visible on the face.

Practice

So, green corrector. Technically, it is very easy to make - you need to mix melted butters (shea and one base liquid) with a mixture of pigments and zinc oxide. You can add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil. I thought that since I have green laurel oil, I should add that too. Instead of zinc oxide, which dries out my skin, I decided to use micronized titanium dioxide.

As a result of thinking, I came up with the following recipe:

  • Shea butter – 3 g
  • Laurel oil – 1 g
  • Watermelon seed oil - 0.9 g
  • Titanium dioxide - 3.3 g
  • Green min. pigment - 0.7 g
  • Yellow min. pigment - 0.6 g
  • Beige min. pigment - 0.3 g

The dry part should be equal in weight to the weight of the oils.

First, I mixed the pigments with titanium dioxide in a grinder. Then I melted shea butter in a water bath, adding laurel oil and watermelon seed oil at the end. I removed it from the bath, and poured the pigment mixture into this hot mixture piece by piece, stirring thoroughly. By the way, the pigments separated perfectly. That's all, actually. You can start trying what I got.

My mistakes

But the color I ended up with was too bright green. Probably, it was necessary to put less laurel and increase the amount of shea. And I added a lot of green pigment. I had to experiment along the way, achieving not even a green, but a green-olive tint. I added a little more watermelon seed oil, beige pigment and titanium dioxide. I added everything by eye and constantly applied it to my face to check how well the corrector covered spots and blood vessels without leaving a green stain.

As a result, I got an option that suited me more or less. It fits well on the face, but you just need to apply a little bit. Locally for redness. In addition to the result, I received great pleasure, I even felt a little like an artist.

How to use concealer correctly?

First, you need to cleanse your face, as usual, this is done before any makeup. Then tone and apply moisturizer to your face, and don’t forget about eye cream. Allow the products to absorb well.

Then apply the following products one after another (not all can be applied at once):

  1. base;
  2. corrector;
  3. Foundation;
  4. concealer.

Concealer is used last. I learned about the correct application of concealer under the eyes from professional makeup artist Elena Krygina, and I still use her advice to this day.

Many concealers can dry out the skin around the eyes, and therefore you can apply a special base designed specifically for concealer, especially for mature skin.

Sponge is the best option

When using liquid concealer in lip gloss form, follow these steps:

  • First, the concealer is applied to the inner corner of the eye and drawn as if with rays in different directions, then using a sponge, preferably a beauty blender, the boundaries are thoroughly shaded;
  • Next, the product is applied to the outer corner of the eye, while it is necessary to draw a line from bottom to top, towards the temple, and also carefully shade everything with a sponge;
  • Then you need to apply concealer under the eyes in even horizontal stripes about one centimeter down and blend everything thoroughly with a sponge;
  • Finally, the area where you applied the concealer needs to be powdered, and it is advisable to do this with light loose powder, otherwise the product will quickly roll up and get into folds.

There are other ways you can apply creamy concealer.

Brushes like a pro

You can apply a few drops of concealer around the eyes, starting from the inner corner moving to the outer corner, but not going beyond the problem area, and then use makeup brushes.

These can be small fluffy brushes, either with double bristles (artificial and natural) or completely natural (as for shading shadows). Makeup with their help turns out natural and natural.

What are makeup concealers and how to use them correctly

A facial cosmetic such as concealer is gradually spreading and gaining popularity among women. But still few people know what makeup concealers are, how to use them and what are their advantages? Let's try to understand these and similar questions.

Concealer can be called a concealer. It has a dense structure in various shades of beige and is designed to even out skin color and hide its imperfections. The concealer gives the face radiance, and can be applied to absolutely all areas of the face. You should choose a concealer that matches your skin tone or is slightly lighter. It would seem, what can replace such a miracle? There is also a second type of foundation cosmetics - correctors.

Correctors are designed to correct skin defects in the form of moles, freckles, age spots, darkening of the eyelids, wrinkles, etc. Pimples can be dried out with a corrector containing salicylic acid, but this product does not apply its effect to dry and sensitive skin around the eyes, unlike concealer.

Apply the corrector pointwise to problem areas, keeping the skin clean. Then foundation and concealer are applied, shading and brightening the desired areas.

Concealer can also be used for spot correction, but in combination with foundation. It should not be visible on the skin, but should hide all its imperfections.

So, both concealer and corrector are necessary products because they perform different functions.

There are several forms of makeup concealers that serve different purposes.

  • The concealer stick is a tube with creamy contents. It's not easy to dose, so it works well for large areas of skin like the cheeks and forehead, but it's not intended for the eyelids. There are many photos on the Internet with schemes for applying such a product.
  • Pencil is best for covering small pimples. It may also be antibacterial.
  • Liquid concealers can be applied to the skin in a variety of ways using brushes and sponges and are easy to blend. This is ideal for concealing dark spots on the lower eyelids and in preparation for applying eye shadow on the upper eyelids. In order to learn how to quickly and efficiently remove bruises and dark spots in the eyelid area, you can study the video.
  • If the area of application is not limited to the skin on the eyelids and you need a product suitable for other areas of the face, then it is better to choose cream concealers, which are considered universal.
  • Dry concealers contain mineral powder that can hide redness and acne, mattify oily skin and have a healing effect.

It is very convenient to have a concealer with a palette that will allow you to disguise skin imperfections of absolutely any origin. It is important to follow the rules of application, which turns out to be not so easy.

Here are a few words about the best way to apply concealer on your face, step by step.

The first step is to moisturize the skin with a suitable cream and wait 10 minutes for complete drying. A foundation with a light texture should be distributed on the face and blended. On the lower eyelids, using liquid concealer, you need to place it in a triangle, the bases of which will be parallel to the eyelash growth line, and distribute the product. For a perfect result, cosmetologists advise purchasing a special concealer brush, so the product will lie smoothly and will not harden on your fingers. Then all small skin imperfections need to be spot-toned, and large ones should be masked with a thicker layer, moving the brush in a circle.

If there are abundant rashes and redness, then you need to apply a thick concealer to them, making patting movements with a small thickness brush. As a final step, it is preferable to use a special transparent or light powder.

It is important to shade the boundaries of applying concealer, you can use your fingertips, then the appearance will look more natural and attract admiring glances. It is worth noting that this set of cosmetics and sequence of actions are suitable for any oval face, since they are intended to mask imperfections and not sculpt.

What is concealer used for, besides its basic functions? For example, it can be used as a base for eye shadow, using neutral tones and regular density. The concealer needs to be distributed on the upper eyelid and fixed with powder, after which the shadows will last noticeably longer.

You can also highlight your skin using a light concealer that has reflective particles. It is recommended to apply it to the cheekbones, the area above the lips and the bridge of the nose. Before experimenting, it is better to watch lessons and master classes on facial contouring.

Finally, there are a few tips to remember on how to achieve flawless makeup using concealer. Firstly, you shouldn't apply powder over liquid concealer to avoid blemishes. Secondly, you cannot apply concealer to oily skin with your fingers; you must use a brush. Finally, for easy blending, you need to properly moisturize your facial skin.

Now, knowing all the nuances, you can safely include concealers in your arsenal of makeup products!
