In general, before that I worked as an interior designer, I was also a stylist, but I started sewing not so long ago, about 2.5 years ago. It all started with the fact that I began to decorate and embroider ugg boots with lace, they sold very well, and I slowly began to sew collars and blouses, and then all this resulted in my own brand.

Does your daughter show interest in sewing?

Good question, it's asked often. Of course, she’s impressive, I respect her very much, she’s one of the few designers who always makes me happy. I will say this: now there is a trend for vintage: flea markets, vintage stores, many people travel around Europe in search of vintage things. I myself always go to such shops, you can find amazing things there. And since there is a trend, everyone can interpret it in their own way, this is how I see a real lady, so I create clothes in my own style. In general, some time ago Sultana Frantsuzova was very popular, she has now been forgotten, but I used to be very in love with her. If you look at my collection, you can also find some similarities. Ulyana’s style is very recognizable, she made it famous throughout the world, she’s a great guy in this, and Sultana, I think, somehow didn’t have time with it. Probably, you can even say that it was Sultana who pushed me to create my own brand.

Ulyana had a good sponsor - a rich husband, and everyone understands that he made a huge contribution to her realization as a designer. When you started, did you have any sponsor, any financial support?

No, what are you talking about? I have an absolutely classic business scheme, every day we monitor strategies and business plans, because there is no extra money raised. Previously, I sold vintage jewelry, collars, I made a little money from this, I also sold clothes, thereby making money.

Yes, I had a store where I sold clothes that weren’t my own, bought collections and sold them. That is, I didn’t start from scratch after all. But I started this particular business solely relying on my savings. It can be very difficult, a lot of problems arise, someone you were counting on lets you down, but I am very interested in developing my business, I want to invest in it as much as I can. I won't brag, but so far it's working out well. We are gradually expanding, growing, people want to buy our dresses and skirts in Los Angeles, Miami, Dubai, France, I can’t even list all the countries and cities at once.
