Short:

  • In the next decade, you should be prepared for even more rapid technological developments.
  • At the same time, you need to learn to think flexibly and communicate with people with different views and beliefs. Considering that the world is becoming more global, this point is especially important.

Jurisprudence

There will always be work for good lawyers, notaries and jurists, so bread and butter will always be at home, and then you look and the caviar is not far away. Everything will depend on how talented and persistent a person with such a profession is, and luck also plays an important role. Having decided on the choice of profession, it is very important to choose the right direction: inheritance, land relations, legal support for business or criminal proceedings.

Designer

The profession of a designer is considered one of the most prestigious and widespread professions for the fair half of humanity. But this does not mean that men cannot achieve success in this area. Why is this profession so prestigious? The answer is quite simple: nature has not endowed everyone with good taste and excellent creative abilities, but even such people dream of being surrounded by beauty at home. This is why interior designers, clothing designers and landscape designers make a pretty good profit for the work they do.

I want a prestigious job!

Editor's Blog: Journalism as It Is | Dmitry Nikolaev | 901

Over time, I have accumulated a large number of answers from graduates to a variety of pressing questions, such as whether a school uniform is needed. Ideally, I would like to put all this into a special “Survey” section, but so far there is no such section, let’s take one of the questions and look at it in detail. Personally, I really like: “What determines the prestige of a profession?” :)))

For an eleventh grade student, it is automatically assumed that he already has a clear idea of what he wants to become in the future and which university to enter. There may be several options for both the university and the future profession, respectively (and the Unified State Exam results will still make their own adjustments:), but one thing is certain - the overwhelming majority of graduates have a clear idea of what they want to do in their future lives. There are isolated exceptions of those who have not yet decided, but that’s why they are exceptions, to confirm the rules, and even such “isolated exceptions” rather cause bewilderment :) I’m saying banal things, but this is a necessary introduction and the first thesis. What guides graduates when choosing their future profession? The answers are as varied as the chosen specialties:) Elena Grigorieva, school No. 24, hereinafter - the answers are given by students of schools in Cheboksary (in the future she plans to devote herself to computer graphics or painting): High salary, but the main thing is that my work was to my liking. Bykov Sergey, school No. 49 (preparing to enter the Faculty of Law): When choosing a profession, I focused on those subjects that “go well” with me. Vaterkin Vladimir, school No. 35 (planning to enter a military school): I was interested in that military personnel retire early. Military people are more sports people than those sitting in an office. Pavlov Daniil, school No. 38 (plans to become an English teacher): I did not choose the most prestigious profession - teaching, but I think that this profession is very noble. I could go on for a long time, but even these examples (chosen almost at random from a large number of answers) are enough to understand that the motivation of graduates when choosing a profession can be almost diametrically opposite . For some, the material component is primarily important, and for others, the benefit to society. This will be our second thesis. I would like to believe that all the answers are 146% sincere, although, for example, it is strange to hear from a girl who is going to enter a prestigious law school that, first of all, she wants to “benefit people.” Why didn’t you choose a specialty like “Social work” then? :)) And then, quietly, we approached the main question and the main topic of this material: How much does the prestige of a profession play a role in choosing a future specialization? What generally determines the prestige of a profession? The topic raised is very complex and controversial, but our graduates know the answers to all the questions:) Tatyana Viktorova, school No. 56 (wants to become an interior designer): The prestige of the profession determines its demand. The profession of a designer is very relevant and prestigious, because all people strive for beauty. So far there is only one answer, however, this idea has been repeatedly expressed by other eleventh-graders: prestige = demand. This will be our third thesis, as an indicator of the opinion of the majority of graduates. Now comes the fun part! This is what this material was prepared for! :)))) To say that the prestige of a profession is determined by its demand is a big, very big mistake. Yes, I want to become a lawyer (economist, programmer - underline as appropriate:) and I think that this profession is in demand and therefore prestigious. My personal opinion is this (I have already spoken about this) - if we take the profession of lawyer or economist as a whole, the profession, and not individual professionals, then the labor market is saturated with these specialties. Just imagine the number of law/economics faculties in the country, and imagine the real need for new personnel, with virtually no work experience :) But I’m not talking about lawyers or economists. I mean that the prestige of a profession cannot be determined by its demand. Because the most in-demand specialty is a janitor: they pay little, there is a lot of work, and no one wants to be a janitor. The demand is very high. But can the job of a janitor be called prestigious? Well, I’m talking about the same thing, demand in itself is not an indicator of prestige :) Vladimir Pavlov, school No. 19, Cheboksary (plans to enter the Academy of the Federal Migration Service): My opinion is that in our time the prestige of a profession is mainly determined wages. Based on this, I can say that I chose a rather prestigious job, with a great opportunity for development. Kuzmina Anastasia, school No. 35 (preparing to enter the specialty “Socio-cultural activities”): A profession is prestigious if it is relevant at all times. Also, if it is easy, there is no physical labor in it, and naturally, if the profession is highly paid. Malova Nadezhda, school No. 45 (plans to become a PR manager): You can be a prestigious specialist in any profession, the main thing is that you like it. I believe that each person determines for himself which profession is prestigious and which is not. And so on. I deliberately chose different answers, because otherwise the remarks would be similar to each other: “a prestigious profession is where they pay a lot.” You can’t argue with this, it’s not in demand for you :) But still, one thing in this whole story continued to surprise me: in total, about three dozen graduates were interviewed, the answers were different, but the majority agreed that the prestige of a profession is determined by the demand and level of pay. We examined all this in sufficient detail, but... But for some reason, not one of them answered that the prestige of a profession is largely determined by social status . Well, that is, a market seller can earn more than a school director, but the director’s profession is more prestigious, a car service owner can earn more than a minister, but the minister’s job is more prestigious, and so on. Maybe the young people will understand when they grow up :)

Perhaps the work of a teacher cannot be called prestigious, but it is very socially significant and in demand by everyone :)

Accountant

Experienced accountants will never be idle. What are they doing? At enterprises, accountants work in different areas: currency transactions, cash desk, payroll, fixed assets and warehouse.

Despite the prestige of the above list, according to experts, after some time it may change dramatically. And in just a couple of years, some modern professions will not be considered prestigious. And if you believe the forecasts, technical specialties will gain prestige.
