How to understand which ones suit you? And how to draw them correctly? Master class from leading MAC makeup artist in Russia Ekaterina Ponomareva. Trainee Yana Karimova has brown eyes. According to makeup artist Katya Ponomareva, such eyes can be emphasized with blue, green and yellow arrows. The latter is undeservedly rarely exploited by girls, so it was decided to focus on it. By the way, yellow arrows are suitable for both blondes and brunettes - here eye color is more important than hair color and skin tone.

For Yana's makeup, Katya chose MAC eyeshadow in Chrome Yellow. To make her makeup bright and long-lasting, she applied the shadows wet. Keep in mind: colored eyeliners in general often suffer from insufficient pigmentation, so sometimes they will have to be applied in several layers.

Katya uses a flat beveled brush N 263

Yana has a “heavy eyelid”, so the eyeliner line should be thin. It is convenient to paint it using the same thin brush. In M.A.S. – these are No. 209, 210 and 211. Katya used a flat one with a beveled tip No. 263, but that’s why she’s a makeup artist, to draw perfect arrows with any device -)

To avoid the comma effect, the tip of the arrow should be short. There is no need to move it beyond the eye.

Before applying mascara, it is better to curl them using Full Lash Curler.

Mascara in makeup with colored arrows should be jet black. Katya used False Lashes Extreme Black.

But it’s better to leave your lips neutral. Any bright lipstick in combination with such eyeliner is already too much. For Yana, lipstick of a natural shade Creme d Nude was chosen.

Green eyes: purple arrows

For girls with green eyes, like Sveta Grishina, purple, plum, bronze or brown eyeliner color is suitable. The main rule is this: the stronger the eye color contrasts with the eyeliner color, the brighter the eyes will appear.

The peculiarity of Sveta’s eyes is the slightly drooping corners and the so-called drooping eyelid. In this case, it is recommended to make the eyeliner line thin and be sure to draw not only the upper, but also the lower eyelid.

And first, be sure to apply a makeup base (flesh-colored eyeshadow, regular powder or primer) - otherwise the sebum will “dissolve” the texture of the eyeliner and it will be imprinted on the upper eyelid. And of course, this way the eyeliner will fit better and last longer.

Katya showed how to draw arrows if the corners of your eyes are also slightly drooping. It turns out that the tail of the eyeliner on the upper eyelid does not need to be pulled up too much. On the contrary, it is drawn a little lower than usual; then you need to draw the lower eyelid and connect the lines.

With an overhanging eyelid, it may feel like the arrow is “eating up” all the free space. To avoid this and make the look more open, Katya additionally painted the crease with Blooming Mad shadows.

It is generally accepted that the blue color of the eyeliner “kills” light eyes. But it turns out that it depends on what kind of blue it is - and on the color of the hair. It is not at all contraindicated for brown-haired women and brunettes.

Makeup artist Katya Ponomareva offered Lena Korenkova eyeshadow in the bright blue shade Electric Eel, applied wet.

The line of eyeliner on almond-shaped eyes can be anything; Katya made it wide and with a bright, clearly defined tail:

To determine the direction of the arrow tip, you need to imagine that you are drawing a line from the middle of the lower eyelid to the outer corner of the eye. This is the correct elevation angle.

How to draw arrows with a pencil?

Mentally divide the upper eyelid into 5 parts: inner corner, inner part, middle, outer part, arrow. The arrow will be the longest and most difficult part, so leave it for last. Start from the inner corner - try to draw a line directly above the teardrop or make an indent (this depends on the shape of the eye, then you will understand what is best). Move on to the next section, constantly decreasing the width. Try to build volume along the lower edge (eyelash row). Then, using more confident long lines, level the upper part of the volume.

How to do makeup with arrows and shadows at home - instructions with step-by-step photos

First of all, it is worth emphasizing that it is better for beginners to draw arrows with a pencil .

Choose one that is soft enough and be sure to sharpen it before each use. Cosmetic markers are also very convenient.

For girls who have already gotten a little used to it, you can use this trick: draw a “draft” with dark shadows, and then paint over the contour with eyeliner. Use not a “native” thin brush, but a beveled flat one - it will be easier to paint this way.

Let's look at the algorithm for creating makeup with arrows. As a rule, for everyday makeup they are applied over eye shadow. The exception is this type of makeup, such as smokey eye, in which pencil arrows are drawn before applying shadows, as well as techniques that use shading.
