For example, white color is a symbol of purity; red - love and passion; yellow – parting and hatred, orange – joy, warmth; pink – tenderness and elegance; purple – luxury and wealth; green - peace and tranquility, blue - fidelity and so on.

In many houses and apartments you can see a plant that not only decorates the interior with its appearance, but also has a magical mission of attracting wealth - the money tree. What it is? We will talk about this further.
Money tree, crassula or crassula is a succulent plant native to South Africa and widespread in the southern hemisphere. In our area it is found only as a houseplant, an ornamental plant, grown indoors or in a greenhouse. This flower received its name for its rounded, fleshy leaves, similar to coins. Growing in natural conditions in open ground, the fat plant can accumulate arsenic and can be poisonous. But this does not apply to plants grown indoors.
There are several types of Crassula, which are very different from each other both in size, from a few centimeters to 3-4 meters in height, and in the shape of the leaves, whole or ciliated. The money tree blooms with small fleshy flowers of pale shades - white, pink, yellow. Flowers are produced at 5-7 years of age. This plant is not used for food. Its cultivation is purely symbolic and decorative.
Feng Shui meaning of a money tree made from coins or banknotes
The money tree symbol has a long history in China. The idea of this talisman is believed to come from the "solar tree" or "tree of ten suns", which can be seen as a variation of the legend of the world tree, common in many cultures.
This mythological plant is found in an abundant place in the Middle Kingdom and is distinguished by great fertility. Its branches reach to the sky and allow the deities to descend to earth. According to another version, the tree does not grow in the real part of China, but in Paradise, because the description of fertile lands corresponds to this place.
Historical evidence of the antiquity of the origin of the money tree can be found in several items:
- Bronze trees of the Sansidui culture (excavations in Changde). One of these creations reaches 3.95 m in height. It is a sculpture of a tree with branches growing upward from the trunk and then descending. On each of them hung a fruit surrounded by fancy leaves.
- Green-glazed pottery that decorated a tomb dating back to the Han Dynasty. It depicts mythological trees of paradise on which sun ravens and other magical creatures sit.
Both options are seen as a symbolic representation of the trees of paradise, in the first case this is confirmed by the fact that all the fruits are untouched, and the Serpent is present on the branches. They are also a symbol of fertility, abundance and wealth. There is a theory that this object was depicted to attract prosperity to the descendants (since the tree was located on the tomb of the deceased).
In addition to these options for money trees, there were also pictures depicting a wonderful plant with gold coins. According to legend, it was necessary to shake it for the precious rain to fall on the person.
Later, decorative figurines-symbols depicting this magical plant began to be made, which became popular among Feng Shui fans. The tree was decorated with both Chinese coins and banknotes.
From Middle Eastern legends, where they had their own idea of an abundant world tree, the idea of using a real plant, Crassula, as its earthly embodiment was borrowed. The meaning of all variants of the talisman comes down to the following:

Next, place it in a pot with a mixture of sand and peat. In about a week, the leaf will take root and begin to grow.
