Homemade shampoo for oily hair: the best recipes

Nowadays, the market offers a wide selection of a wide variety of shampoos, so you can easily choose the product you need based on smell, consistency and composition.

But a well-advertised brand and bright packaging do not always indicate quality. Often, falling for a marketing bait, we, without thinking, spend a considerable amount of money, dreaming of making our hair more beautiful and healthy. However, often the miracle remedy leads to problems such as dandruff, brittleness and dry hair.

Therefore, if you dream of luxurious locks, you don’t need to blindly believe the loud words coming from the TV, make your own shampoo for hair growth at home. Thanks to this, you will be sure that it does not contain harmful substances that have a negative effect and spoil your curls.

Making soap-based shampoo

To make shampoo, you will need a soap base. You can buy it in almost every pharmacy. It contains about 70% gentle substances that provide gentle cleansing. It is also rich in natural ingredients such as aloe vera.

As for the shade, it can be colorless or light yellow. Preparing shampoo at home involves enriching the base with essential oils and fragrances. Moreover, this miracle product is suitable for any hair type.

The cooking process includes the following steps:

  • In a water bath, bring the base to body temperature;
  • Then add your favorite essential oils and growth enhancers to the liquid. But keep in mind that everything should be in moderation; you should not give too much of it. Two drops are enough;
  • While stirring the liquid, add about ten small spoons of herbal infusions;
  • Remove the container from the heat and let it cool, then pour it into a clean container with a lid, where you plan to store it;
  • Use your “culinary masterpiece” like regular shampoo to which you are already accustomed.

Remember that when preparing shampoo for hair growth at home, it is very important to choose the right oils. So, for example, burdock oil is ideal for weakened strands, but avocado or jojoba is ideal for oily strands.

To maintain the pH balance of the scalp

An important problem when using homemade shampoos is the increase in pH of the scalp. An alkaline product that gets on the surface of the hair destroys the protective acid film. As a result, the cuticles open, shine and silkiness disappear, tangled strands, brittleness, itching, and flaking of the scalp appear. pH imbalance can lead to fungal and bacterial infections.

For a moisturizing, balanced shampoo, mix:

  • 1 ½ cups coconut oil;
  • 1 ¾ cups Aloe vera gel;
  • 20 drops of essential oil.

This product does not contain alkaline components - soda, liquid soap. It does not form foam, but removes dirt well, nourishes and moisturizes. Natural shampoo is stored in the refrigerator. When cooled, it has a thick consistency. Wash your hair as usual.

If necessary, rinse with water and apple cider vinegar.

How to make shampoo more effective?

In order to make the shampoo more effective, you can add to its composition:

  • Chamomile essential oil;
  • Infusion of nettle or chamomile (one hundred grams of substance is used per one hundred and fifty grams of base);
  • Mustard (it is recommended to add it to ready-made nettle shampoo; you need to add no more than two teaspoons of mustard powder);
  • Henna (no more than two spoons per hundred grams of base);
  • Beer (add no more than fifty grams with ¼ glass of base). You can also add pepper tincture (a little) to this mixture.

Please note that you can also use baby soap as a base. Grind ¼ of a piece and dilute the resulting powder with a glass of hot water. We should not forget that the ingredients can be mixed with each other. Thus, you can come up with a recipe yourself or use ready-made ones that have already proven themselves.

Egg Shampoo Recipes

The recipe for egg shampoos has been known for a long time. In the USSR, cosmetic products were not so diverse, so hair care products were often made at home. Moreover, this was popular not only among village women, but also among Moscow residents.

Now there are many variations of shampoos made from chicken eggs. There are both universal recipes for an ultra-regenerating egg cleanser and mixtures suitable for a specific hair type.

  • break the cold egg into a bowl and beat;
  • add hot water, stir the ingredients.

Distribute the mixture over the entire length of the curls and foam. Leave for about 5 minutes and rinse with warm water.

In addition to soap solutions made from yolk, you can also use masks with this product. The main thing is to skillfully alternate them and not use them every day. Their ingredient composition is quite wide. You can use a small head of onion, or mustard to stimulate growth. For a thicker consistency, add gelatin or flour, preferably rye, to hair products. On the Internet you can also find unusual recipes, for example, with table salt.

On the Internet you can find many video and photo recipes: from proper hair washing to preparing shampoos and hair masks.

About the benefits of eggs for hair

Eggs are one of the most popular ingredients in homemade and commercial hair products.

From them, more precisely from egg yolk, many women make masks, shampoos, or use the egg without other additives as an excellent remedy for restoring hair.

Reviews from consumers who have tried various egg-based products confirm that after using them, hair becomes noticeably healthier and stronger, brittleness and dryness disappear, and growth improves.

Such positive changes are caused by nutrients that are very beneficial for the human body as a whole, including hair.

The most well-known and important components that an egg contains are B vitamins and animal protein.

These components not only have a positive effect on the hair, but also protect it from harmful substances that enter it from the outside, which is also very important and helps maintain hair health. The most useful part of an egg is the yolk.

It contains special acids that, when applied to the hair, normalize the balance of the composition of the scalp and, thus, prevent the appearance of dandruff and help get rid of the early signs of developing seborrhea.

The yolk also contains many useful microelements that improve the functioning of the follicles by nourishing them.

That is why the use of eggs in masks or other cosmetics is a good prevention against hair loss and also improves hair growth.

The yolk is especially useful for dry hair, thanks to the vitamins A and E that are included in its composition. They nourish dry strands from roots to ends, giving them softness and shine.

Vitamins B and D act as an activator for the growth of strands in the yolk - they improve blood flow to the follicles, due to which the curls begin to grow better.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not only the yolk that is beneficial for hair, although it is more often used in masks and cosmetics.

But, if you want to make a homemade compress or hair mask, then you will most likely need protein, since it contains many enzymes that protect the scalp and the roots of bacterial penetration, so that your hair retains a clean and well-groomed appearance longer.

How often to apply?

You need to use shampoos for hair growth at home twice a month. If you use them more often, the hair gets used to the ingredients contained in the composition, as a result of which it will not be possible to achieve the desired goal.

Some representatives of the fair sex prepare several types of shampoos and use each of them once a week. But here, too, there is a decrease in efficiency. Therefore, you should not break the rules, trying to achieve a good result in this way.

You should also take into account the fact that you need to wash your hair twice. The first will help get rid of fat, and the second will effectively cleanse hair of remaining dirt and “give” it useful substances. But keep in mind that the second time you need to keep the substance you prepared on your head for about fifteen to twenty minutes.

The secret to choosing the best shampoo for oily hair

When choosing which shampoo to wash oily hair, you must take into account that it should not only reduce the functioning of the sebaceous glands, but also block their subsequent appearance. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a medicated shampoo for oily hair that contains natural herbal extracts, antibacterial components, vitamins C, K, A, and also in the case of dandruff with the addition of zinc, sulfur and tar.
