— The prosthesis works from muscle impulses. Diana needs to think about what she wants to do. The brain sends a signal to the muscles, and they activate the artificial hand. This is very important so that the muscles in the arm work and do not atrophy. Diana's left arm is slightly shorter than her right, because for seven years there was no proper load. The hand of the prosthesis is plucked, that is, not each finger works individually, but the whole hand,” says my mother.

The prosthesis is turned on using a button. There is a battery inside the device that needs to be charged every few days. At night, Diana takes off her prosthesis. In the morning, my mother helps me put it on - so that the prosthesis does not slip and is attached comfortably, the hand must be lubricated with a special gel.

When Diana came to school to show off her new technological hand, her classmates surrounded her and did not let her go for a long time. A bionic prosthesis is more about science fiction films than about life in Vyshny Volochok.
