Ira won her first victory, which marked the beginning of her career, at the age of eight. From this age, she adhered even more strictly to the regimen and principle of proper nutrition. Irochka came to terms with the fact that she had no free time left. She grew up as a persistent, responsible, hardworking girl and was confident in her abilities.
From the age of 14, she began to win various tournaments and competitions, winning various medals: from bronze to gold.
Slutskaya managed to win the title of the strongest figure skater in the world and Europe. She took part in the 1998 Olympics, which took place in Japan (fifth place), and in January of the following year at the Universiade she was awarded silver.
In those same years, she graduated from the Moscow Academy of Physical Education.
With her performances, Irina wanted to bring her sport as close as possible to art, winning new “gold” and “silver”. Irina left the sport in 2006, having collected 40 gold medals, 21 silver and 18 bronze.

After her retirement from big-time sports in 2006, Irina finally allowed herself to experience the most important joy in life - the joy of motherhood. The birth of her first child did not affect her figure in any way. With a height of 160 cm, Slutskaya continued to weigh 50 kg.

But the birth of a daughter a few years later brought with it extra pounds.
And, although the figure skater’s weight was not particularly critical (67 kg), Slutskaya would not have been Slutskaya if she had not started to actively fight it. Advertising:
Sports training made itself felt to the fullest. In three months, Irina got rid of 16 kg, and she did it quite easily and calmly. She developed a special nutrition plan and began to adhere to it, not allowing herself to relax. Slutskaya admits that the word 'diet' not only causes her to shiver internally, but also automatically increases her appetite several times. Therefore, she prefers to replace “diet” with the concept of “healthy eating” and perceive the process of active weight loss not as an ordeal, but as a very pleasant and useful stage in life.
What does he mean by this? First of all, exclude from the diet everything fatty, fried, baked, smoked and sweet. For drinks, she recommends drinking only mineral water and fresh juices, but try to avoid coffee and tea altogether. Or at least reduce them to a minimum (one cup of natural coffee in the morning is quite enough).

Yes, it’s hard, especially when you’re constantly surrounded by two small children and a spouse who is unlikely to appreciate the beauty of diet soup. But Irina found the strength to divide homemade meals into two kitchens: for herself and for others.
Slutskaya considers fish (and all seafood), vegetables (with the exception of potatoes) and fruits to be the main food products specifically for the female body. These are, so to speak, the “three pillars” of a healthy diet, which contain all the necessary microelements. If we talk about meat, it should be chicken, turkey or beef.
The way you prepare food is of great importance. Of course, from the point of view of calorie content, it is optimal to consume everything raw and boiled. But you can hardly find a person who would be happy to eat boiled carrots, for example.

Therefore, Irina advises baking meat, fish and vegetables in the oven, sprinkling with a small amount of olive or sunflower oil. When baking food becomes a habit, you won’t want anything better, because it’s really tasty and quick. Like any athlete, Irina attaches great importance to physical activity. After all, when actively losing weight, it is very important to maintain the skin and muscles in constant tone. If you can’t play sports regularly, then you should at least just move a lot. It is better to replace any opportunity to travel with a walk, and the elevator with an independent climb up the stairs.
Contrary to popular belief that you need to have breakfast before a morning workout, Slutskaya believes that you should only exercise on an empty stomach. And for lunch you can already afford soup with vegetable broth, boiled (baked) meat and salad.
But even with such strict limits that Slutskaya adheres to in nutrition, sometimes she also allows herself to relax and eat, for example, a piece of cake. The main thing is not to allow such indulgences too often and in too large portions, she believes.
According to Slutskaya, keeping yourself in shape follows this principle: you need to burn more calories than you consume. Then a good figure and a great mood are guaranteed!

Irina Slutskaya’s first husband was a former boxer who devoted himself to coaching children, Sergei Mikheev. They met in the company of mutual friends.
There were long conversations on the phone, beautiful courtship with gifts and flowers, and in 1999 they started a family. In 2007, Artem was born to them, and three years later, Varvara.
In 2016, their marriage went through difficult times and almost broke up. The media wrote that the former figure skater had affairs with other men. It is not known for certain whether this was true or not, but these rumors made the spouses nervous. They were able to survive this period and survive. But later, their seemingly strong family broke up.
At the beginning of December 2019, the media was full of information that the two-time world champion gave birth to her third child, a daughter. And it seems that this happened a month earlier. The father of the newborn girl is the current husband of the figure skater, businessman Alexei Govyrin, whom Irina married about two years ago.
The newlyweds managed to establish contact with children from previous marriages (Alexei also has two children). And the younger generation found a common language and even became friends.
