Black Bond, James Bond
In principle, fans of the franchise are ready for the next Bond to be played by a non-white actor. There has been talk for several years that the role should be given to a black actor. In the early 2010s, one of the favorites, for example, was Idris Elba, who was well known due to his participation in the TV series “The Wire” and “Luther,” as well as in films of the Marvel cinematic universe. Then Elba overtook, according to bookmakers, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy and Sam Worthington.
However, such lists are updated quite regularly, and Elba is no longer the main contender for the role of Bond. According to this year's poll, the most likely candidate is Tom Hiddleston (Loki in the Marvel comics), and his rival is Justin Hartley, known for his roles in television series. Of course, this is not the choice of the franchise producers, who are still busy working on the 25th film, and they have no time to think about who will replace Craig.

Who is Lashana Lynch?
The 31-year-old British actress has been acting since the early 2010s, and her filmography includes more than a dozen works. However, more often she starred in episodic roles in episodes of various TV series, including, for example, “Silent Witness” or “Atlantis,” as well as in second or even third roles in feature films (the 2012 drama “Fast Girls”). The breakthrough in her career happened quite recently - in the comic book film Captain Marvel, Lynch played a prominent role as Maria Rambeau, a friend of Carol Danvers (that is, Captain Marvel).
It is unknown when exactly Lashana Lynch was invited to the 25th Bond, but the studio announced her participation in the project - without specifying the role - in April of this year. And if the Daily Mail's sources are not wishful thinking, then such secrecy is understandable and justified. Most likely, the filmmakers would like to maintain this intrigue for as long as possible in order to avoid critical comments from Bond fans - but they are already unhappy, and so far it has not come to mass protests only because Craig is still Bond.
