Why does Galina Polskikh still blame herself for the death of her first husband 50 years later?

Biography

Galina Aleksandrovna Polskikh was born in Moscow two years before the start of the Great Patriotic War. She practically does not remember her parents: her father died at the front in November 1941, and a few years later Galina’s mother died of tuberculosis. The girl spent some time in an orphanage, but then her grandmother took her in to raise her.

Galina studied well at school and especially loved literature and history. She regularly participated in children's amateur performance competitions.

After graduating from school, Galina Polskikh entered the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) to take a course with Mikhail Romm. In her first year, she met a third-year student, Faik Gasanov, whom she married. In 1960, their daughter was born and Galina had to leave the university. However, she soon recovered, continuing her studies in the workshop of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova. In 1964, Galina Polskikh graduated from VGIK and in the same year became an actress at the Film Actor Studio Theater.

It is known that 80-year-old Galina Polskikh suffered a hypertensive crisis and her blood pressure increased significantly. The actress promptly called an ambulance. It is likely that experts will admit the actress to a clinic for treatment. Polsky fans hope that the artist will be able to improve her health in the near future, and are very worried about her condition.

This is not the first time the actress has been hospitalized. In 2018, it was said that Polskikh was hospitalized due to severe heart pain. True, the artist herself claimed that she was just undergoing a routine examination. And four years ago, the star needed the help of doctors due to her own indiscretion. So, the actress stumbled on the set of a commercial and suffered a fracture of her left ankle. The Polskis underwent surgery, but at times the old injury makes itself felt.

“I once went to the store, suddenly there was hellish pain, I couldn’t go. I sat down and thought about what I should do. I remembered that there was a “Children’s World” nearby, crawled there and told the girls: “Help me, I need a scooter, otherwise I won’t get home!” So, they picked out a scooter for me, and after that I ride it perfectly,” recalled Galina Aleksandrovna.

The actress herself rarely complains about her health. Polskikh has admitted more than once that she feels much younger than her age. She leads an active lifestyle, does not give up physical activity, walks a lot and often sees her beloved grandson Philip.

Since childhood, Polskikh communicated a lot with the heir, taking him to filming and performances. It was she who gave Philip the motorcycle on which he almost died in an accident. Due to the severe consequences of the accident, the man's leg was amputated - the actress reproached herself for many years because of this.

Nevertheless, the star’s grandson did not give up: he walks with the help of a special prosthesis, loves sports and runs his own business. “I’m a design engineer, I’m starting to make my own prosthetics for extreme sports,” Galina Polskikh’s grandson shared his plans in the “Tonight” program.

Let us remember that Galina Alexandrovna had two marriages. The actress's first husband was Faik Hasanov, whom she met in her first year at VGIK. The couple got married in 1959, and a year later their daughter Ida was born, who later became a director, like her father. Family harmony was disrupted by a tragic incident: the artist’s husband died under the wheels of a tram.

Two years after the sad events, Polskikh married another director. The star did not live long with Alexander Surin; the artist left her husband while pregnant with her second daughter, Maria.

Movie

In 1962, Galina Polskikh made her film debut in the film “The Wild Dog Dingo” directed by Yuli Karasik. The film received many prizes at international film festivals, including Venice, Vienna and London. At the Venice Film Festival, Polski received praise from Federico Fellini himself. "I love this film. “The Wild Dog Dingo” was the beginning of my popularity, for which we received the main prize of the Venice Film Festival – the Golden Lion,” the actress said in an interview.

Since then, the actress has acted regularly - she has more than 120 film credits to her credit.

Galina Aleksandrovna proved herself as a lyrical and dramatic actress. For example, in the films: “Journalist”, “Loyalty”, “Shadows Disappear at Noon”, “I Walk in Moscow”, “Portrait with Rain”, etc.

She played both poignant and comedic roles: “The Car, the Violin and the Dog Blob”, “For Family Reasons”, “Vanity of Vanities”, the TV series “Strawberry Cafe”, “Fathers and Grandfathers”.

There are also negative characters in Galina Polskikh’s filmography: the swindler Ukladova and the bandersha Lidiya Vasilyevna in the detective stories “Night Incident” and “Broken Circle”.

In Evgeny Matveev’s trilogy “Love in Russian,” Galina Polskikh created the image of Katerina Ivanovna, a wise and mature woman. Among her heroines is Elsa Frantsevna in the television series “Petersburg Mysteries” and “Denomination of Petersburg Mysteries.” In the series “Doctor Zhivago” (2005), the actress played three roles of the Mikulitsyn sisters.

Her latest film work is in the television series “Ranetki”, where she played the role of literature teacher Elizaveta Matveevna Kopeikina (2008), in the series “Adult Games” (2008), “One Family” (2009), “Phoenix Syndrome” (2009) .

“I blame myself for what happened,” Galina Polskikh openly about the tragedy with her grandson

“I blame myself for what happened,” Galina Polskikh openly about the tragedy with her grandsonPhoto: globallookpress.com Talent, popularity and a stellar career have never protected anyone from misfortune. Especially if trouble happens to loved ones. The famous actress Galina Polskikh ended up in an orphanage at the age of 8, and then she was raised by her grandmother. That is why her own grandson became a real light in the window for the artist. But when, several years after the death of her beloved husband, he almost went to the next world, it became a real blow for Galina Alexandrovna.

Philip loved motorcycles very much, not just racing them, he was educated as an engineer and wanted to devote his life to designing new models of bikes. But one day a 19-year-old guy lost control and crashed into a bump stop. The impact crushed his left leg. “I ran up to him, he had a bag on his shoulder, tore it off and tied his leg with a strap and held it with both hands until the doctors arrived, so I could neither call nor let go, blood was gushing from the wound like a fountain, for 10 minutes they drove past us drivers, they slowed down, but none of them stopped. Fortunately, the ambulance was driving by, the doctors quickly and competently provided first aid and took him to the hospital,” said Philip’s friend Nikolai, who was riding next to him.

Then my grandmother and mother immediately arrived at the hospital. After a long conversation with the doctor, it turned out that the guy would live, but his leg would have to be amputated. “I blame myself for what happened. Even then, his friends said that the wheel was acting up. Well, nothing: the main thing is that he’s alive! We’ll cope somehow,” Galina Polskikh said immediately after the accident.

And the family managed, not without the help of loyal friends, motorcyclists, who donated blood for Philip. Doctors spent several months fighting for the guy’s health. And those close to him inspired the guy: “Everything will be fine, and he will even ride the iron horse again!” And only a year later, when he got behind the wheel of a motorcycle again, the actress’s grandson realized that life was getting better. And Galina Polskikh continues to act in films, but family is the main thing for her. “Let the youth wait for something. I just work as best I can, help my family. “And now I live in memories,” the actress modestly asserts.
