Until the age of three, the boy lived with his family in the village of Belousovo, Kaluga Region, then moved with his parents to Moscow, in the area of the ZIL plant[1]. The Gordons lived there for less than a year, after which they moved to Chertanovo, on Dnepropetrovskaya Street[1]. At the time the Gordon family left for the USA in 1989, privatization in the USSR was just gaining momentum, so their apartment on Dnepropetrovskaya went to the state, which Alexander still regrets.
Almost immediately after the birth of his son, Harry Borisovich left him with his mother and grandmother[2]. When the boy was four years old, his mother met Nikolai Chinin, who later, having married Antonina Dmitrievna, replaced his father[2].
