Larisa Verbitskaya was born on November 30, 1959 in the Crimean city of Feodosia. The girl’s father was a military man, so the family, at the direction of the leadership, soon moved to Moldova, where Lara grew up and received an education. Young Verbitskaya studied at an English school. This unusual choice was due to the parents’ desire to raise their daughter to be a future diplomat.
As a child and teenager, the presenter was involved in various sports. Interest in this type of activity began with an acrobatics club, which Larisa and her friend signed up for at the age of six. Later she attended swimming, gymnastics and high jump sections. In the latter sport, Verbitskaya achieved considerable success, being for some time a member of the Moldovan youth team.

The parents hoped that their daughter would enter MGIMO, but Larisa assessed her chances more soberly. Verbitskaya knew English well and was going to enter the Institute of Foreign Languages, but she was afraid that she would not pass the competition, and eventually applied to the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University for the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature. Later Larisa found out that just that year the competition for admission was very small, so she bitterly regretted the missed chance. At that time, the girl did not at all plan to work in the television industry, but, as usual, chance changed everything.

Having almost completed her studies at the university, Verbitskaya learned from her friend about a competition for announcers in the Russian-language segment of Moldovan television. The girl, who loved to try new activities, decided to take part in the selection and, unexpectedly for herself, passed. This is how her career began as a TV presenter on one of the federal channels of Moldova. The girl graduated from high school, already working on television, and subsequently the diploma was not useful to her.

Despite the fact that out of all the applicants, the position was given to Larisa, the presenter was recommended to work on her voice. The diction was all right, but the strength and plasticity of the voice still needed to be developed. She had to work in several programs at the same time, and each one had its own requirements regarding how the presenter should speak. As Larisa Verbitskaya later said in an interview, she was very lucky to fall into the hands of an experienced and skillful teacher who was able to give a quality voice to a beginner.
A year later, Verbitskaya was allowed to conduct news broadcasts. Soon the presenter was given trust unprecedented in Soviet times: Brezhnev died, and the girl was allowed to read the obituary about this politician. The presenter coped with the task, after which they began to take her more seriously on television.

In 1985, Larisa Verbitskaya moved to Moscow, despite the fact that the young TV presenter had serious career prospects in Moldova. In the capital, I again had to go through a difficult competition to get a place in the announcer department of the USSR Central Television. But the ambitious girl again coped with the task brilliantly.
The presenter worked as an announcer for two years, after which she managed to break into the developing segment of morning broadcasting. There Verbitskaya established herself for many years. For more than twenty years she hosted the “Good Morning” program on Channel One, remaining the only one of her colleagues who has been presenting one program for so long. Later, the presenter was invited to various programs of several stylistic directions, ranging from music programs to “Good night, kids.”

Already in 2002, Larisa Verbitskaya was invited to film the third season of the mega-popular reality show “The Last Hero”. And although the presenter, accustomed to comfort, was very wary of this kind of activity, she accepted the offer. The woman subsequently admitted that the show benefited her, as she became better aware of her own capabilities and made new friends, in particular, she became friends with Marina Alexandrova.
The project organizers expected Larisa's imminent departure from the program. The program's psychologists, who called the families of each participant once every three days, said that she would probably be home soon. However, gradually confidence changed into bewilderment, as the fragile blonde showed remarkable willpower and perseverance. Despite the deprivation of all kinds of benefits, swollen legs, mice in the sleeping bag and other troubles, the TV presenter reached the final of the competition and went home just three days before the end of filming. The TV show itself was released on Channel One in 2003.
In 2007, the weekly program “Ice Age” was released, which was also broadcast on Channel One. In this TV show, Larisa had to remember many skills from her sports life in order to quickly and effectively master complex tricks on ice. These efforts were not in vain, and Larisa, together with her partner Povilas Vanagas, quite easily reached the final of the project.
For some time, Larisa Verbitskaya participated in the fashion and style program “Fashionable Sentence”, where she helped participants find their individuality by changing their wardrobe. Now, in addition to the morning program, the presenter appears in commercials, holds various concerts and other special events, and also organizes master classes for her young colleagues.

In 2014, Larisa left Good Morning, which shocked many fans. Together with her, her co-host Boris Shcherbakov left the program. According to rumors, the TV presenters did not leave the program voluntarily; they refused to renew their contract. The operation gave an unsuccessful result, which did not go away for a month, and is unlikely to inspire the presenter to further experiments with plastic surgery.

In February 2020, Verbitskaya became a guest of the culinary program “Smak”. During the program, the TV presenter shared with viewers a recipe for pasta with pesto sauce and vegetables and her daughter’s signature dish - pear crumble. During the cooking process itself, the woman several times emphasized why and how the selected dishes would be useful. In parallel with cooking, Larisa spoke about her views on raising children and did exercises for her voice.

After the procedure, the presenter had very noticeable papules on her neck. In addition, the surgeon was unable to remove the prominent “rings of Venus.”

Personal life
The TV presenter does not like to remember her first husband and does not even mention his name again. She says that at that period of her life she had long ago given up a big cross, since her husband was jealous of her work and at one point gave her an ultimatum. From her first marriage, Larisa had a son, Maxim, whom the presenter took with her to her parents’ apartment. Since then, father and son have hardly seen each other. Maxim Larisa’s parents helped her raise, and the TV presenter herself says that his military grandfather became an excellent example of a man and a role model for his grandson.

Verbitskaya met her second husband at the circus, where she took her son to a performance. Alexander Dudov immediately found a common language with Maxim, which won Larisa’s heart.
