Everyone has their own spacesuit

Evgeny Mironov, who has 60 roles in films and about 30 in the theater, is an amazing actor. He gained wide fame after starring in the film “In August 1944,” filmed at Belarusfilm in 2000. The film “The Time of the First” is based on real events related to the flight into space of Alexei Leonov and Pavel Belyaev on the Voskhod-2 spacecraft in 1965.

Evgeny Mironov:

I came to Alexey Arkhipovich, hoping that he knew me from films. We talked for four hours, and it became clear to me that he is the same hero that cinema and literature are now lacking.

Before that, I watched a documentary about him and realized that if I didn’t make a big movie, then... I would die.

What struck you about Leonov?

Evgeny Mironov:

He admitted that he should have died seven times. He went into outer space and showed exceptional courage when his bloated spacesuit prevented him from returning to the ship. Leonov managed to enter the ship only by “bleeding” excess air from the suit and climbed into the hatch not with his feet, but with his head first, which was prohibited by the instructions.

Before landing, the automatic orientation system failed, and Belyaev manually oriented the ship, and then turned on the braking engine. Voskhod landed in an off-design area 180 kilometers north of Perm. Leonov's spacesuit had no ventilation, and on the ground he poured liters of sweat out of it.

Why did you take on this particular story?

Evgeny Mironov:

I was interested in exploring the nature of heroism, and Leonov is a real hero. Alive, the whole planet knows him. I split Leonov into atoms. He is from Kemerovo, the eighth child in the family. In 1960 he joined the First Cosmonaut Detachment. And he did something that no one had done before him in the history of mankind.

Did you use any technical tricks?

Evgeny Mironov:

This film about space was shot in 3D for the first time in the history of Russian cinema.

What is your response to American “Gravity”?

Evgeny Mironov:

Ours is cooler! So, Sandra Bullock flew in a large space during the filming, while Kostya Khabensky and I sat in a capsule. Plus our spacesuits weighed 40 kilograms. Filmed in a Soviet-era centrifuge, it is still in working order.

Leonov said more than once that the suit terribly interfered with him...

Evgeny Mironov:

It is for flying, not for walking.

How did you get used to the role?

Evgeny Mironov:

I literally fell in love with Leonov, with his openness and freedom. He has amazing humor. I fell in love with Leonov so much that I dream of a continuation of the film.

How did you prepare for filming?

Evgeny Mironov:

We visited the Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, RSC Energia, and took a kind of young cosmonaut course.

Alexei Leonov's partner, who manually landed Voskhod-2, Pavel Belyaev, was played by Konstantin Khabensky. What is Kostya like on the set?

Evgeny Mironov:

Easy. I've wanted to work with him for a long time. By the way, Kostya even looks like Pavel Belyaev.

Now two Russian films about space are being released at once. Why has this topic come up again?

Evgeny Mironov:

The texture of the film “Time of the First” was classified for a long time. Two weeks before the launch, the test ship exploded, but it was decided to send the crew of Leonov and Belyaev into orbit no matter what. Our main consultant on the site was Alexey Leonov himself. A team of specialists from the Cosmonaut Training Center, people from RSC Energia, where the Voskhod-2 spacecraft was created, also worked on the project. (By the way, the presentation of the film took place at RSC Energia, where BelKA, a Belarusian Earth remote sensing spacecraft, was being created.) We worked on creating the ship for about six months and made several 3D models. They built a model on the site, divided into six parts, like orange slices. Each of the “lobules” moved on its own rails, so that the camera could fly through one of them, make a full circle and exit through the opposite one.

Who filmed and where did the filming take place?

Evgeny Mironov:

When the question arose of where to film the landing of the ship, the director typed the word “taiga” on the Internet. The first thing that cameraman Vladimir Bashta, who shot “Brest Fortress” - the first large-scale cinematic project of the Union State, said when he saw the picture: “Here I filmed “The Geographer Drank the Globe Away.” It was 140 kilometers from where the Voskhod 2 cosmonauts landed in 1965. The film crew worked in the Usva River valley at a temperature of minus 35 degrees. The understudies were filmed here - artists from the Perm Theater Theater. Their task was to walk waist-deep in snow, shoot from rocket launchers and shout loudly.

The theme of space has long been in your work...

Evgeny Mironov:

Prince Myshkin is a kind of “alien”; he walks in a “suit” of truth and love.

And it happens that you agree to some role and think: okay, now I’ll play, earn money, and then I’ll go and repent?

Evgeny Mironov:

Can not be. First of all, I don't like money that much. Secondly, I won’t be happy with this money. And thirdly, I’m afraid that God will take away my talent...

What is difficult for you to play?

Evgeny Mironov:

Love. We are all selfish in love, except Myshkin. But Myshkin is not a person.

The last “bomb” that exploded in the Theater of Nations you led was “Shukshin’s Stories,” where Vasily Makarovich developed the type of a kind of village intellectual. What do you think this is?

Evgeny Mironov:

First of all, good manners. I myself am also from the outback, born in the Saratov region. My mother worked as an electrician, my aunt as a crane operator. So, above my aunt’s bed hung images of Lenin and... Jesus Christ. My aunt always went to the theater with a change of shoes. Mom dreamed of becoming an actress, and the children made her dream come true. The daughter became a ballerina. I went to Moscow to the Moscow Art Theater School, I was sure that my fellow countryman Oleg Tabakov would almost let me stay at his home - and with a suitcase I was waiting for him at the entrance to the theater. Then my parents moved to Moscow. They lived poorly, and Oleg Pavlovich allowed his mother, Tamara Petrovna, to work in the Tabakerka canteen, then he took her as an usher to the theater, where she still works...

Evgeny Mironov: “The only thing I miss is the children”

At the entrance of the capital’s Theater of Nations, I introduce myself to the grandmother-waiter: “I’m from Izvestia, I have an interview with Zhenya.” “Which Zhenya?” — a puzzled look from under his glasses. "With which. With Mironov." - “Oh, with Evgeniy Vitalievich! Just a second, I'll call the secretary."

A similar effect was described by Bulat Okudzhava: “The cities of my country are all covered in forests, the sound of a saw and an ax is difficult to drown out. Maybe they are building offices for friends? Once they set it up, life will become easier”...

40-year-old Evgeniy Mironov did indeed have his first office, but he did not add any respectability to the newly-minted artistic director - thin, modest, in torn jeans. You can see that Yevgeny Mironov has long been a real master from the looks of young Russian actors and directors who recently came to Moscow to receive grants. The “Action to Support Theater Initiatives” is being held for the fifth time, and it was Mironov who was at its origins, as a member of the Presidential Council for Culture.

So, at the end of the season, a major figure in Russian culture, laureate of everything in the world, head of the Theater of Nations and his own production company, Evgeny Mironov, answered questions from Izvestia columnist Elena Yampolskaya.

- Zhen, I know that you just returned from Saratov - you took your “Marriage of Figaro” there with Serebrennikov. How do you feel now when you find yourself in your hometown?

Mironov: For me it became very hard work - coming to Saratov. Firstly, if I’m traveling with a performance, I worry a million times more than in any other city. Because teachers come, my former classmates. For them there are no titles or regalia, for them I am just Zhenya Mironov. On the other hand, more and more people are coming to me with requests. And here I understand that I am not God. And they have the feeling that I am God. They ask for support, for placement in some university. It seems to them that I am so successful and that I can help in some way. And in some ways I really help, but it’s hard.

— Do you have any relatives left there?

Mironov: Remained - on my father's side. According to my mother’s too, but very little. Mostly family graves. We had a very, very friendly family. Not just mom, dad and my sister and I, but a family in general. We celebrated holidays together. Then they tried to repeat it in Moscow while dad was alive, and something worked out, but still not like in childhood. You can’t forget how on New Year’s everyone slept side by side... As if from an icy mountain - on some boxes that they made themselves... Maybe there are such families in Saratov even now. Surely there is. But in Moscow everything is different.

—You still haven’t fallen in love with Moscow?

Mironov: I love it very much! Very!

— And you always speak about her skeptically. Especially about Muscovites.

Mironov: In this way, I seem to be protecting those newly arriving in our vast capital. Because you can get very burned here. In Moscow there are not even many temptations, but falsehood. So-called glamor, strange, meaningless gatherings - everything that I personally can’t stand. It is not good for the body or the soul. And I love Moscow so much. I love its rhythm - frantic. This doesn't even happen in New York.

-Are you a fast person?

Mironov: Even too much. Peter Stein always scolded me for being in a hurry on stage and reacting quickly. The public hasn’t yet understood anything, but I’ve already had ten changes of state.

- It seems to me that your current state is described by one main word - “fatigue.”

Mironov: That’s right.

— Just overworked, or is it a midlife crisis?

Mironov: No, in my opinion, I have already gone through a midlife crisis. That is, I can’t say for sure, but I think it was him.

- And what was it?

Mironov: Well, it can’t be explained that easily... There were disappointments of a personal nature, and professional searches, and some kind of dissatisfaction with myself... But now I just drove myself a little, because some obligations overlapped with others. We have been filming the film “Apostle” for a year now. It so happened that the director was fired during filming, and now no one except me knows how the film began and how it should end. And I am forced to be something like an artistic director, although in the cinema it sounds funny. I invited one director - he filmed a part, then another... Moreover, I was dealing with problems completely alien to me regarding props and filming locations. It is very difficult, for example, to find a suitable “Beria’s office.” Or a train in 1942 traveling through Moscow is impossible to photograph today - because on the left and right there are completely different landscapes. So we are filming Moscow in Minsk.

— “The Apostle” is a story about two brothers? One, a spy, in my opinion, right?.. Tell me, please.

Mironov: Yes, I play two brothers. They are from an intelligent family, but one became a criminal, served time, the Germans recruited him and are sending him here to us, to Russia. This is almost a documentary story, by the way. Our people capture him and want to convert him, but he dies, and then they have difficulty finding his twin brother. He is a mathematician, he also served time, but on a political charge - in Solovki, he was released, he teaches somewhere in Siberia. They bring him in, mold him into the same wolf that his brother was, and separate him from his family until he completes the task. In short, he is fighting not so much for Victory as for reunification with his wife and son.

— Why “Apostle”?

Mironov: This is his call sign. And in general, they are two brothers - Peter and Pavel... A very good script was written by Oleg Antonov. Although this is a television film, and I think I’m quitting television projects, everything there is always difficult and unpredictable.

- So this is a series?

Mironov: Not a series, but a serial movie. Like “Shield and Sword”, like “Meeting Place...”.

“I feel like you’re sculpting a competitor—even a television one—for the second “Burnt by the Sun.” By the way, aren’t you filming for Mikhalkov yourself?

Mironov: I’m filming. True, not in the role that Nikita Sergeevich first offered me. Because it’s big, and I don’t have time. I have to bring “The Apostle” to the end - both editing and dubbing. We need to find a composer. I want to do everything myself.

- So who are you in “Burnt 2” - isn’t it the same tanker who was a charming lieutenant in 1936?

Mironov: Absolutely right. I play the same person. Mikhalkov came up with a very good episode - I squealed with delight when he called me and told me how it would happen.

- Well, are you going to rest?

Mironov: Yes. I've planned a vacation, but I'm afraid that I'll start to experience withdrawal symptoms because I'm not used to it.

— What exactly did you plan, if it’s not a secret?

Mironov: I’ll go to Italy for a whole month. I’ll sunbathe and think about what I should do next. There are a lot of scripts and plays lying around that I don’t even have time to open here. I'll take everything with me. True, from there I want to go to the Avignon Festival for another five days, watch performances and, maybe, get to know one of the directors about an invitation to the Theater of Nations.

— Today you have all the formal signs of success: a national title, awards - from State to “Triumph” and “Idol”; You've probably lost count of the number of "golden masks". You had the opportunity to work with the world's best directors. Don’t be afraid of thoughts: what’s next?

Mironov: I drive them away from me. Everything is going as usual.

“I remember that ten years ago you behaved much more victoriously.” You had a real star image, you even partly resembled Menshikov. A sort of man from the crystal castle...

Mironov: Yes? Was I like this? To be honest, I don’t remember well... It may well be that I unconsciously imitated Oleg. I have always been very impressed with him both as an artist and as a person. My Saratov teacher Valentina Ermakova, a great actress, told me: “Zhenya, in order to become a mega, you lack one thing...” I shouted: “I don’t want to be any mega!” - "Listen to me! You're missing a mystery. You need to let your hair go long, wear black, think a little…” But I didn’t even try. I didn’t have time for such games, for searching for special clothes or designer rings. I'm not presentable at all.

- Are you missing anything in life?

Mironov: Of course. There are not enough children.

- What's the problem?

Mironov: No problem. I'm working on this issue.

— What are you proud of, looking back - and at forty it’s quite possible to look back? Like, this won’t be taken away from me.

Mironov: Before our conversation today, I didn’t think about it... Well, I didn’t change my main love in life - my profession. There were, of course, areas of turbulence when I was slightly tossed from side to side, but still, I’m honest with myself. And if you evaluate yourself - since you forced me - this is my main achievement. I haven't lost my way.

— Are there authorities for you? People whose opinion you will definitely listen to?

Mironov: There are such people, but, let’s say, you don’t know them. They are not public, not media. At the very peak of success, when my head is a little dizzy and I can’t feel the ground under my feet, they will tell me about it. The absolute authority for me is Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov. It’s amazing that with such a workload he has time to think about the future. He is building a school for gifted children who will come to Moscow and will have the opportunity to study here not for euros, but for talent. I look at him and think: don’t you really want to lie down at the dacha? But he never really had a dacha; he started construction several times and sold what was unfinished. He is not a man of the garden, not a man of a deckchair, and has not changed over the years. Tabakov even now, passing by some student at the Studio School, among other things, asks: “Should I give you money?” This was always his favorite phrase. This means that in the main things he remains the same.

— I thought you would open the list of authorities with Alexander Solzhenitsyn. After all, he himself proposed your candidacy for the role of Gleb Nerzhin in the series “In the First Circle.”

Mironov: I doubted whether to talk or not to talk... We only talked for one day. And twice on the phone. This is an absolutely incredible person. From another area. From another dimension. He was responsible for his words all his life. And he answered with such things - these are not our toys. I wrote down one of his phrases - although it was awkward, it seemed like we were talking, and suddenly I took out a pen, paper and wrote it down - but I really wanted to insert it into the film... He said: “You have to imprint yourself on the path of life with your actions every day.” This means he values ​​every day so much. I can’t do that... My Gleb Nerzhin has this phrase.

— “Action to support theater initiatives” arose at a meeting of the Council of Culture. That is, you are not just there for show, you are proposing a deal.

Mironov: This idea arose naturally. You have to pay off your debts at some point. I've always been very lucky. The list of roles that I have already played does not fit into one acting life. You know, when they say goodbye to an actor, they usually say: he didn’t play so much, didn’t manage to do so much, but he could have...

- Can you imagine - God willing, in a hundred years - they will say: he played EVERYTHING...

Mironov: Yeah. And, unfortunately, I didn’t remember anything. Let's say goodbye...

I’m from the provinces myself and I know how difficult it is to make it in Moscow. But today “difficult” is no longer the right word. Impossible. On the one hand, everything is open, please. On the other hand, everything is put on a commercial basis. Studying - money, putting on a play - money, renting a venue - generally a bummer. At the last Council on Culture, it seemed to me that the president spoke about culture in a different way. In a different tone. The timbre of the voice changed. It’s not easy - we are following the athletes, and after us there is only the weather... Therefore, if I am able to help someone young and worthy, of course, I will do it.

-Are you not a member of any party?

Mironov: No!

- I suppose the name is...

Mironov: Name. At least that's what they called before. But I always answered that I was minding my own business, I was responsible for it, and I hoped to be useful to society through this.

— Tell me honestly: in the situation with the Theater of Nations there was a moment when they got married without you?

Mironov: Partly it was. But, by and large, everything fell on prepared ground. My friends and I, with whom we organized the “Territory” festival together, were already ripening the idea of ​​an open space. I was looking for ways to contact the mayor of Moscow, and then Mikhail Shvydkoy suddenly appeared with his proposal. Moreover, today I was appointed, and tomorrow I had to answer the questions: well, what will you do? What is your program? I was absolutely not prepared for this. In addition, I had to formulate for myself that I needed this.

- Have you formulated it?

Mironov: Rather, I felt that it was interesting to me. Then it will be seen whether I can create here the forms in which, in my opinion, theater should exist. Will I be able to make this venue a real modern European stage? Everything else is nonsense. Just putting on a jacket, tie and sitting in the artistic director’s chair is not for me.

— In connection with the Theater of Nations, is there any point in the existence of the “Evgeny Mironov Theater Company”?

Mironov: The theater company named after me was created for two reasons. Firstly, I wanted to work with certain people and at the same time be responsible for everything. Make a performance in which everything will be perfect - the actors, the scenery, the lighting, and the salary. In the end, I got it in full - I will dream about this experience for the rest of my life. The second circumstance: I wanted to make money as a producer so that I could avoid acting in bad films.

“I strongly suspect that you didn’t get rich.”

Mironov: Overall, I am satisfied. I wasn’t imprisoned, I paid off my debts - not completely, but practically... We have other projects, some of which may be realized on the stage of the Theater of Nations. And, let’s say, now in Saratov “Figaro” made a serious impression. But for the first time I came without some kind of “wall”: not with the Tabakov Theater, not with the Confederation of Theater Unions, just Mironov’s company. They could have thrown tomatoes at us, but they didn’t. I realized the main mistake: this performance first had to be run around Russia. Because in Moscow piranhas swooped in and tore them apart...

— Piranhas are critics?

Mironov: Of course.

- Listen, how do you build relationships with the yellow press?

Mironov: No way. I don't own the sources. Of course, I don’t read it myself, and the others don’t tell me anything.

- So you can’t go to court. Could he, following the example of other stars, engage in assault?

Mironov: I really want to. I dream of beating a person.

— “Beat the Man” is a brilliant epic title. “Love a person”, “Beat a person”...

Mironov: Just a bastard - he came to my birthday, for my 40th anniversary. We celebrated in a restaurant; the closest ones were there - six or seven people. The photographer came. I asked him: excuse me, who are you? He says: the owner of the restaurant asked to film it so that he could give it to you tomorrow as a souvenir. And I, fool, believed it. He just said: “Yes, of course, of course, just promise that it won’t appear in print.” He swore, kissed the cross, and the next morning I saw this photo shoot in several publications. I remembered his face. But, unfortunately, I’m not a party person, but where I go, I haven’t met him yet.

— Was there anything compromising in these photographs?

Mironov: Absolutely nothing. I was shocked by the fact itself: after all, the man kissed the cross... God bless his family - maybe this money went to the treatment of the child. But if I had seen him myself, I would have punched him in the face.

— Recently, not only secular, but also church publications have been “hunting” you. How do you think why?

Mironov: Probably because I played Myshkin. When “Muslim” came out, the chief mufti of Russia was very interested in us...

— Do you speak freely on topics of faith?

Mironov: Not very freely. Because some people use their religiosity or pseudo-religiosity so often, advertise it so much, that you immediately think - am I one of them? Why am I babbling? If we talk about my attitude towards faith, it is expressed primarily in my profession. Even when I played maniacs, villains, moral monsters, I wondered where my heroes came from, how they became like that. Although I don’t want to multiply the gallery of such images.

— I probably asked you once before: did you refuse to play Yeshua for artistic or religious reasons?

Mironov: Professionally. Firstly, I had played Myshkin by that time, and I didn’t want to repeat myself. Secondly, although it is believed that Yeshua is not exactly Christ, you can still understand from the steps who Bulgakov had in mind. And if a famous artist plays it, they can say about him: he played well. And nothing could be worse. This cannot be played. You have to believe in this. You cannot consider from a distance how the artist cried, what kind of smile he had - that of an artist, not that of Yeshua. This role should be played by an unknown person, so that nothing distracts the viewer.

— As for the debts to your elders, which you repay to the next generation: I think your alma mater, the Moscow Art Theater School, will not wait for you. And at the same time, are there any thoughts about directing?

Mironov: There are thoughts about directing - just not in the theater, in cinema. As for teaching... I can't deceive students. We were probably the last course to which Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov devoted as much time as we wanted. And we wanted it all the time. Then there was less. And even further - he realized that it was impossible to be a wedding general in pedagogy, and honestly left. This is hard, painstaking work, and I bow to those who do this and who succeed in growing talent.

- How are your loved ones - mom, Oksana? What's new?

Mironov: My sister gave birth. Two weeks ago—it was forty days—we baptized Taisiya, Taechka, my second niece. And my mother still works at the Tabakov Theater, still the queen who greets guests, and the audience is even somewhat dumbfounded. Because controllers, as a rule, are not very friendly people. I ran into this myself several times: “Who are you seeing? Where are you going? What is this? This is not a ticket. Where did you get it? And since they installed metal detectors - I understand that this is necessary - but the process of entering the theater began to greatly influence the subsequent perception of the performance. At the Tabakov Theater, people also pass through the frame, but then they end up in the hands of my mother - and this is a whole performance. If you haven't seen it, I advise you to watch it. How she accompanies them to the buffet, the toilet, how she talks about the lives of the artists... Honestly, she already wanted to retire, but the theater asks her to stay longer. Without her, something will be missing there.

Mom Evgenia MIRONOVA: I want my son to have a family!

“My wife has no time to give interviews now—she is rehearsing a new play directed by Kirill Serebrennikov based on Beaumarchais’s play The Marriage of Figaro,” Tamara Petrovna told us. “But I will be happy to congratulate my beloved son through Komsomolskaya Pravda.”

— How does it feel that your son is 40 years old?

— Nobody gives a wife 40 years. Even in appearance he is far from this age. He looks and feels, according to him, at most 25.

— Probably 20 years ago you never thought that your son would become a popular actor?

- Why? I always believed in his star. You see, Zhenya is a very purposeful person, he always achieves what he wants. I was always surprised how responsible he was for me. As a child, I was even a pioneer leader, went to a music school and a lot of other clubs, in general, I managed to do everything.

— Why do you think Zhenya puts so much effort into the theater and cinema?

“He always tells me: “Mom, I want to get back on my feet!” At the age of forty, I want to have something of my own and not ask anyone!” The son appears for the first time in The Marriage of Figaro as a producer. His future plans include opening his own enterprise or production center, and maybe a theater.

I look at him, and sometimes it seems to me that he is not from this world, he is such a positive person. Maybe you expect me to tell you about his shortcomings, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t find anything bad in him. Believe me, I’m not speaking as a mother, but as a simple person. After all, no one knows that the son never forgets about disadvantaged people. Helps orphans.

— There is an opinion that if success comes to a person in adulthood, then star fever is not characteristic of him. Your son also achieved recognition not so long ago...

- Which star? What are you doing? In our house it is generally forbidden to say this word! Of course, my daughter and I, Zhenya’s younger sister Oksana (Mironov’s sister is a professional ballerina - editor’s note), always rejoice at his victories and say: “Keep it up!” But not more. It happens that I criticize my son, saying that in this performance you are repeating your previous role. Zhenya never gets offended and always listens to me and my sister. Sometimes it seems to me that Oksana and Zhenya are one whole. My daughter loves him so much, she feels sorry for him.

He tells him, they say, take pity on yourself, cancel this performance or filming, they say, go to bed early. Imagine, they have never quarreled in their lives. Little Zhenya always met Oksana from school and carried her briefcase for her. Now she is taking care of him. It’s a sin for me to complain about children. They call me for every reason. After his father’s death, Zhenya once admitted to me that he was afraid of losing me.

- Is it true that Alla Pugacheva is friends with Zhenya?

— Alla Borisovna loves him very much as an actor. As a mother, I am incredibly pleased that my son is loved and respected.

— Tamara Petrovna, what would you wish Zhenya on her birthday?

— Success and good health. And I also want Zhenya to have a family. Well, who doesn’t want to babysit their grandchildren at my age? So I want my son to have comfort, to have someone waiting for him and loving him. It's difficult for a person alone.

— How will you celebrate the anniversary?

- No way. There is a belief that one should not celebrate one’s 40th birthday.

— Is Zhenya superstitious?

— First of all, my son is a very religious person. But he also believes in omens. Quietly, in a family way, let's congratulate him on his birthday. My sister, daughter and Zhenya will be there. He had a solid B in Russian. After classes, he disappeared into the theater club. And already in the seventh grade he played in “The Inspector General”. And there was no meanness in him at all. And God grant that it continues like this. There was never a time when Zhenya did not let his classmates copy their homework.

And the residents of the village are especially proud of the spruce tree that Zhenya and his mother planted under the windows of their apartment.

“He was studying at school then, he was very young,” said neighbor Alexey Mikhailovich Zemskov. — They planted two spruce trees. It’s a pity that one was never saved, it died... But I’m still taking care of the second one. Look how big it is - it will be three meters high! Zhenya grew up before my eyes. He was a normal guy. True, I didn’t run around the streets with other kids: from school I went to music classes, from music classes to dances. He comes home and immediately plays the accordion. I listened to everything through the wall.
