Irina managed to win the love and respect of numerous television viewers thanks to her talent, incredible charm and wonderful sense of humor. Undoubtedly, our today's heroine is a very interesting and unusual person.
Love for the acting profession - since childhood
The future celebrity was born in 1961 in Penza. A year after the birth, the Rozanov family moved to live in Ryazan. Irina’s parents were actors, so the girl’s life from childhood was connected with art. You could say she grew up behind the scenes.

Irina looked at her talented parents and dreamed of continuing their creative path. She loved coming to the theater, learned many plays, and at the age of 5 she took part in a skit for the first time.
Irina Rozanova: I don’t want Russians to be thought of as dirty animals who are always drinking!
A striking role in the recent film “Peter the Great. Testament" made viewers talk about the courage and lack of complexes of this famous actress. Just like her co-star in the film Liza Boyarskaya, the no longer young Irina Rozanova appeared naked before the audience, brilliantly playing Empress Catherine I, indulging in carnal pleasures with a young lover. On the eve of Irina Yuryevna’s 50th birthday, “Yellow Newspaper” asked her about love, pleasant hobbies and the meaning of life...
An actress must have a secret
- Ira, you are a very busy person, I barely found you at home in Moscow, and now you are leaving again - to finally rest or work again?
– Filming in a TV series in St. Petersburg. I liked the script, it's a human story. Nowadays it is very easy to stamp pacifiers, but here it was different. The guys-actors are great, sometimes it seems like they are from the last century. I asked the leading actor: what will you buy with the fee, a car, perhaps? “No,” he replied. – Mom dreamed of a mink coat. I’ll buy her a fur coat first, then everything else.” This is the main character.
– I remember you called the new generation cellophane.
– Of course, we live in the era of the cellophane generation, we no longer perceive the world in the same way as the romantics of the 60s, I have no hope that all young people will rush to watch the film and ask questions of good and evil, honor and decency. We always delved into life, we discovered it, now this is not the case. My heart remained there, in the 60s, my brains remained in this, our time.
– Have you already mastered the computer, the Internet, a necessity of our time?
– It’s a pity to spend your life hanging out on the Internet. But if I need to read an email, I will. But I want to hold the sheets of the script, the pages of the book in my hands – you can feel life in them.
– Do you read articles about yourself on the Internet? For some reason you have very few interviews...
– I don’t like giving interviews. I am convinced that an actress must have a secret. But with my roles, I’m not afraid to openly talk about my life and feelings.
– When you play love, are these memories, personal feelings?
- This is chemistry. How this happens is unclear. And a dream. An actor is like an open book for those who can read.
– You are a smart actress, it’s usually difficult for such directors...
– This is absolutely true, it can be difficult, but, as a rule, it is difficult with individuals who are unsure of themselves. Talented people, beyond human grievances, were given the understanding that this was creatively wonderful and it was for the good.
– TV series kill actors. When faces are replicated, there is little room left for the soul.
– Actors are killed by their attitude towards the profession. If this is a diagnosis, if this is his path, then the actor cannot be killed by the series.
When I quit smoking I quickly gained weight
– Now you act more in films than work in the theater – unfortunately, fortunately?
“I came to the conclusion a long time ago that everything that happens is for the best.” But I feel very well when that dead point comes, after which there is a path to nowhere; if you leave everything as it is, it will lead to great tragedies. I’m not saying that you should flutter through life like a swallow, no, but you still shouldn’t be afraid to change something. I had a very happy time at the theater. Lesha Batalov and I recently recalled this. We were passionate about literature and poetry—any young actor today would envy us.
– Are you from another world, from the world of the sixties, when people dreamed of turning the universe upside down, do you feel this?
- May be. In society now the main focus is on money, but I am sure that this is a transition period. If you get carried away, you can easily reach the point and become a bad artist, playing your life as a role. There was also a period in my life when it seemed that I was more brilliant than everyone else, but, fortunately, this time was short. I perceive many of my roles as pills.
- What does it mean?
– Actors sometimes don’t like to play the role of scoundrels, because the audience often identifies the character with the personality of the artist. In the film “In You I Trust” I played a cruel orphanage teacher. After watching it, they told me different things: “I hate you for this role” and “My wife, when she looked at you in this film, not only stopped beating the child, she stopped yelling at him.” Even if just for a minute, she stopped!
– I was surprised when I saw you in Pyotr Todorovsky’s film “Anchor, more anchor!”, I thought: “Well, Rozanova is not such a plump lady at all!”
“That’s when I decided to take care of my health. I quit smoking and replaced cigarettes with sweets. And she quickly gained weight. When Pyotr Efimovich saw me, he rejoiced: “They were like that then!” And I looked at Zhenya Mironov (young, handsome, subtle, talented) and felt like a hippopotamus, a mountain woman who could crush and strangle, break. I had a cosmic complex in front of Zhenya. Only now I understand how accurate and appropriate everything is in Todorovsky’s film. If I were thin and slender, then this would not be the same story. It doesn’t matter what bodies or souls wanted to unite.
– Today people are freer to express their feelings.
- I think, yes. How many such unions arise in our time in which no prohibitions apply.
– Have you decided for yourself what the meaning of life is?
– In life itself with all its troubles and sorrows. To read this book to the very end. But in the modern world revelations are not accepted; we all strive for Hollywood. And there Schwarzenegger gets much more than Robert De Niro. Marilyn Monroe wrote in her diaries: “We pay pennies for a soul, millions for a kiss.”
– By the way, some people compare you to Marilyn Monroe.
– They are completely different, well, if only because she did not play a single dramatic role. They compare based on life experience, but this is also all very superficial. I don’t tell anything about myself, but as Vysotsky sang: “Rumors, like flies, in houses and corners,” such a portrait appeared - of a free woman.
- A beautiful woman.
– Gloss, glamor... I don’t even want to talk about it. I don’t go to social events, I don’t appear naked on the covers of magazines, I don’t know a single brand, I don’t know any fashion trends, I’ve never been able to make connections. I prefer solitude, I draw better.
- Are you seriously interested in drawing?
– Let’s call it relaxation, I’m returning to the world of childhood. My paintings are abstractions.
– You once said that the most difficult thing is to be able to wait and not envy. It turns out?
– I have no thoughts of going somewhere forever, of being offended by the whole world. When I am friendly with myself, then I am friendly with everyone in the world. I have a calm attitude towards diamonds, I can wear earrings with simple stones - I feel joyful in them.
The greatest happiness in life is to give!
– You have more than 100 roles in films, did you have any desire to write memoirs? On July 22 you will turn 50 years old.
– I won’t even fuss about the anniversary. This date is the result, but I still have too many questions for myself, for my profession, for my life.
– Why is age not felt either in the eyes or in the roles? Do you live in any special way?
– I realized for myself a long time ago that giving is the greatest happiness in life, much more pleasant than receiving. This is the energy of living life.
– What were you like in your youth?
– I was named after my grandmother Irina, she had seven children. We, grandchildren, came to her, spent the night in stacks in the haylofts, played, fought for a warmer place. Since childhood, there were a lot of people in our house, my brother’s friends, my friends came with performances. I was an absolutely free person and believed that things could only be the way I thought.
– As a member of the jury at the Moscow International Film Festival, you were against giving an award to the film “Once Upon a Time in the Province.” The film was praised for the fact that the director showed the truth: in Russia they drink a lot.
– I often visit my homeland in Ryazan and I’m not a saint myself, I know what alcohol is and how difficult it is to fight this addiction. I’m not against the film, but it seems to me that we need to help people rise, and not knock down those who, for one reason or another, could not get out on their own. I don’t want the idea of us, Russian people, to be like wild animals mired in vices. The West sometimes likes this film language, but I don’t.
Education and first filming
It is not surprising that, having matured, Irina Rozanova went to Moscow to enter the Institute of Theater Arts - GITIS . However, it didn’t work out the first time and I had to return home and start working as a costume designer.

Photos of naked Irina Rozanova
Photos of naked Irina Rozanova can be found in the movie “Intergirl” and in a number of other works. During her career, Irina Rozanova stripped off in front of the camera more than once for filming. She has a wonderful figure, and, in principle, she had nothing to be ashamed of.
It is worth noting that all the candid photos were quite chaste. The most that actress Irina Rozanova showed was her breasts. Therefore, there is no point in criticizing the artist for her indecent behavior. Moreover, many people liked such shots.
Work in theater and cinema
Irina began performing on stage while still studying. In her second year, she was invited to the Mayakovsky Theater, where she successfully worked throughout her student years. After completing her education, the actress entered the “Man” theater studio, where she was noticed by the young talented director Zhevanovich and given a role in the production of “Pannochka”. Their creative union successfully existed for 10 years. Next, Irina successfully performed at the theater on Malaya Bronnaya for 7 years and at Lenkom for 1 year, after which she decided to devote herself to cinema.
Rozanova’s debut as a film actress took place in 1985. She played a small role in the film “My Girlfriend.” The actress received her first leading role a year later in the film “The Scarlet Stone.” Rozanova became widely famous thanks to Pyotr Todorovsky's film Intergirl (1989). The picture caused a wide resonance, touching on previously taboo topics. Despite the fact that Irina’s role was minor, all participants in this film woke up famous.
In 1992, for the main role in the film “Anchor, more anchor!” Irina has received numerous awards. There she played nurse Lyuba, around whom a dramatic plot is built.
Rozanova always took part in filming with pleasure and took on almost all the roles offered to her. But there were also unpleasant incidents. So, on the set of the series “Nine Months,” where she played a pregnant woman, she had a conflict with one of the actresses. She said: “You don’t have children of your own, so at least you can play a pregnant woman in a movie.” It was painful and insulting for the childless actress to hear this.
