Permanent makeup on the face or lip tattoo with shading

This is a method of color correction of the face using a subcutaneous injection of a dye half a millimeter under the skin. The procedure gives a less permanent result than a traditional tattoo, and therefore requires correction after 1-2 years, depending on the type of skin and your care for it.

This method of modern beauty is used not only by those who are too lazy to apply makeup in the morning, but also to disguise facial defects and scars.

The procedure is ideally carried out in medical centers or large beauty salons by a competent cosmetologist. However, in fact, it is performed by everyone who is not too lazy: hairdressing salon workers, those without medical education, and even newly trained masters at home.

In order not to harm your beauty, and even more so your health, you need to choose a person who will do your eyebrows carefully, based on the recommendations and reviews of friends.

Why?

Drawn eyebrows will stay with you for 5-6 years, and how you will look all this time directly depends on the artist. A careless beauty worker can cause an infection in the wound (the skin is damaged!), and this can lead to serious consequences. The correct application of the dye determines what color your eyebrows will be in a year or more. You don't dream of green or red rims over your eyes, do you?

Permanent makeup has a number of contraindications (which is why you need to contact a specialist with a medical education and undergo a full examination before the procedure).

Who shouldn't get a tattoo?

Persons with a number of diseases:

  • Oncology
  • Diabetes
  • Colloid scars
  • HIV and viral hepatitis
  • Arterial hypertension above grade 3
  • Blood coagulation disorders
  • Chronic diseases in the acute stage, herpes, ARVI, and also during menstruation.

Can tattooing be done by pregnant and breastfeeding women?

No!

Even if you don’t believe that the dye and anesthetic are harmful to the fetus, during pregnancy and breastfeeding the pigment can behave unpredictably,
“move out”, change shade - and you will simply ruin your appearance!

What are the different tattoo techniques?

Today's price list includes:

  1. Hair technique
  2. Combined shading
  3. Spraying (powder eyebrows or shooting)

The most expensive procedure is performed with beveled needles - it is 2-4 thousand more expensive than the classic version, but it gives a more natural look to the eyebrows.

Which is better: microblading or tattooing?

Microblading is a type of permanent makeup that differs from classic:

  1. Price (for example, in Tver microblading will cost about 3 thousand rubles as opposed to 10,000).
  2. Lasts less than 2 years.
  3. When performing it, the master uses not a machine, but a manipulator.
  4. The pigment used is natural.
What to choose?

Only you can decide here, because the procedure has both pros and cons. In any case, if 6-7 years ago I knew about the existence of microblading, I would have chosen it to try!

Where to get permanent eyebrows done and how much does it cost?

Each city has its own prices for cosmetic procedures, but I studied the price list for tattooing in Tver, and I can say that over several years they have increased significantly.

  • Now you will be charged 10-11 thousand rubles for the hair permanent makeup technique.
  • For spraying (shadow shading or powder eyebrows) from 9 thousand rubles.
  • And a combined technique or beveled needles will deplete your credit card by 12-14 thousand and more.

Of course, the price for tattooing varies even among Tver salons, and the difference will be 1-5 thousand depending on the level of the establishment.

I am inclined to choose not a salon, but a master, fortunately, Instagram is full of pages of masters, and you can see his work.

When I got my eyebrows tattooed, my cosmetologist was just developing his base, and Instagram didn’t exist yet, so that’s why it turned out the way it did...

My review about tattooing.

How long does it last?

They promised me that in 5 years my eyebrows would return to their original appearance. Any article on the Internet promises this, and we believe them... However, more than five years have passed, and my tattooed arches are still with me.

Why did I decide to have the procedure?

My eyebrows and eyelashes have always been light, and after I plucked them a lot as a teenager, they were also sparse.

Nowadays there are a lot of cosmetics on sale: pencils, eyebrow lipsticks, shadows, gels, felt-tip pens. 6-7 years ago, I could only afford a poor quality pencil, which did not make the hair look natural and the shape beautiful. And I didn’t know how to put on makeup back then.

But eyebrow tattooing was gaining momentum. Actresses and singers all drew on their eyebrows, and it was considered fashionable...And every girl tends to follow fashion trends. And I gave in...

Eyebrow tattoo procedure.

I created my beauty in Tver (if you are interested in the name of the clinic, write in the comments). My friends also had permanent makeup done there this year - they also didn’t like the result.

On the appointed day, I came by appointment and was taken to the master.

On the day of the procedure, it is better not to use cosmetics and greasy creams, however, my face was cleaned anyway and the skin in the area of the brow ridges was degreased.

After all the manipulations, I was given a pencil and a mirror so that I could draw the desired shape myself.

I think this is quite correct, because the cosmetologist sees you the way she wants, and then we don’t recognize ourselves. Therefore, it is better to draw the shape yourself, and let the master correct the result a little.

After a long period of tinkering, I was finally happy with the result and lay down on the couch waiting to continue.

What's next?

  1. They applied an anesthetic cream to my skin - this is mandatory, because tattooing is a painful procedure!
  2. After 10 minutes, when I felt a chill and realized that the sensation in the forehead area had disappeared, the cosmetologist began to inject pigment.
  3. They “drew” an outline for me with an indelible marker, and then layer by layer the eyebrow artist began to inject pigment under the skin, gradually applying layer by layer and treating the skin with an alcohol-free anesthetic.
  4. Upon completion of the tattoo, the artist disinfected the skin and applied healing cream.

When I looked at myself in the mirror, I wanted to cry. In the reflection, a completely different person with unnaturally black eyebrows looked at me. Although I:

  • I chose a combined technique that was supposed to create natural eyebrows;
  • Light brown shade.
  • And, by the way, the form was greatly changed at the request of the master... Therefore, I repeat, choose a specialist based on reviews!

What to do with the new permanent face?

I was given brief instructions on how to care for my eyebrows after tattooing:

It was prohibited:
  • Sunbathe
  • Go to the sauna and swimming pool
  • Peel off the crusts, which will come off in 5-12 days.
  • Use alcohol lotions.

What should I apply to the wound?

After 2 months I was told to come for correction, but I, upset by the result, did not go anywhere and left everything as it was. For 2 weeks my skin “bloomed”, bled and hurt, and after half a month I could admire the result of my torment:

Is it possible to wet eyebrows?

You should not wash your face with tap water for several days, so as not to provoke irritation. When caring for your face, you can use boiled water.

What are the consequences of tattooing after 5 years?

Photo of eyebrows before:

After 1 year, my eyebrows looked completely sad: the pigment acquired a red-gray tint, and I couldn’t leave the house without a pencil or gel.

After 6 years it became a little lighter, but, as you can see, it did not disappear anywhere.

If you are wondering whether eyebrows grow after tattooing, I will answer you: yes!

My hair has become thicker and more decent, and now I’m waiting for the permanent makeup to completely come off...

Laser tattoo removal.

Of course, there is the option of mixing the pigment. However, reviews about laser correction of permanent hair are not encouraging - it is long, painful and ineffective.

I generally do not welcome tattoo removal at home with soda, citric acid and other strange options and do not see any logic in them.

So for now I paint my eyebrows and feel like a decent person.

So should you tattoo your eyebrows?

Maybe. But:

  • Choose an experienced professional
  • Nice clinic
  • Don't save money
  • Take proper care of permanent makeup and prepare well for the procedure!

Tattooing, or permanent makeup, is a rather serious procedure. Firstly, during the process, the skin is injured, and in the first few days you will have to provide simple care for your eyebrows after tattooing. Secondly, permanent makeup is contraindicated for some. And thirdly, the result may simply not suit you.

Forewarned is forearmed. To prevent your reflection in the mirror from causing acute attacks of self-pity for your loved one every time, find out in advance what the consequences of eyebrow tattooing may be and how to avoid them.

Eyebrow tattooing - does it hurt?

Generally speaking, the eyebrow tattoo procedure is considered the least painful when compared with manipulations in the lips and eyelids. With superficial permanent makeup (depth 0.3-0.5 mm), you can do without anesthesia; for deeper ones, its need is agreed upon between the client and the artist. Everyone’s sensitivity to pain is different, and why put yourself under stress once again if any master has modern painkillers at his disposal. As a rule, this is a cream or gel that is applied to the skin a few minutes before the needle starts working. So don't worry: you probably won't feel anything at all.

Eyebrow care after tattooing

When performing tattooing, shallow punctures are made in the skin with a needle, into which a coloring pigment is placed. Redness of the skin and slight swelling is a natural reaction that will pass quickly. The next day after eyebrow tattooing, crusts form on the skin, which under no circumstances should be torn off: you will not only injure the skin, but along with the crust you can remove part of the pigment and ruin the artist’s work. To care for your eyebrows after tattooing, he will advise you on a special ointment or cream, and will also tell you how to apply them correctly.

In the absence of complications, complete healing of eyebrow tattooing takes a maximum of 5-10 days. But allergic reactions of the body, inflammation and other unpleasant things that require treatment are also possible. If you have had cases of individual intolerance to any drugs, be sure to inform the specialist about this at a preliminary consultation: he will take them into account when selecting an anesthetic and the composition of the paint, which includes plant and mineral components.

Contraindications for tattooing:

  • reduced immunity (for example, after illnesses);
  • pregnancy, breastfeeding period;
  • cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure;
  • diabetes;
  • asthma, allergic diseases;
  • warts, moles, papillomas and other skin formations that may be affected during the procedure.

You should decide together with your doctor whether to tattoo your eyebrows in these cases.

Unsuccessful eyebrow tattoo

The lion's share of all the unpleasant consequences of eyebrow tattooing relates to a frankly unsuccessful result. The complaints to the masters concern either the color or shape of the eyebrows, which often disappoint their clients. But let's talk about everything in order.

Color.

You will be able to evaluate it a couple of weeks after visiting the salon; in the first days it will be darker or brighter. Then, after a few months or even years (depending on the durability of the tattoo), the pigment will begin to lose intensity, and permanent makeup correction will be required. It’s another matter when the consequence of eyebrow tattooing is a complete discrepancy between the color and the declared one, and the blonde gets ashy eyebrows instead of dark brown ones, and the brunette is horrified by their bluish tint!

Form.

There may be two reasons for dissatisfaction. The first is that you didn’t approach the choice of eyebrow shape carefully enough, and now you see that it doesn’t suit you. The second is that the master did the work sloppily (went beyond the outline, made too rough strokes, broke the symmetry).

The trouble is that correcting the color or shape is not so easy; most often, partial or complete removal of the eyebrow tattoo is required. Laser is one of the most effective and safest ways to get rid of unwanted permanent makeup. Depending on the intensity of the pigment and the depth of its penetration into the skin, laser removal of eyebrow tattoo will take from one to ten sessions.

How to avoid the unpleasant consequences of eyebrow tattooing?

A skillfully executed eyebrow tattoo is truly beautiful and not at all harmful to health. But choosing a specialist should be approached with all seriousness.

  1. Don't trust a master you know nothing about. Take the time to collect information about him on the Internet and among your friends, and look at examples of his previous works.
  2. Meet the master first and discuss all the nuances. A professional will definitely ask you about your health status, warn you about the possible consequences of eyebrow tattooing, and answer all your questions.
  3. Pay attention to the sanitary conditions: almost surgical sterility must be maintained in the tattoo room! The technician wears gloves and uses only disposable needles, caps, and dye containers.

And remember, a good tattoo cannot be cheap.

The hackneyed phrase that beauty requires sacrifice often pushes women to take risky actions. Sometimes it seems that bad things can happen to anyone, but not to me. But, unfortunately, no one is immune from the negative consequences of cosmetic procedures. Therefore, before you decide to experiment with your appearance again, you need to learn about the possible risks. Today we will talk about the consequences of eyebrow tattooing.

If a woman goes to a beauty salon, she naturally expects to receive professional service. And part of it is a preliminary consultation. The client must clearly understand what awaits her during and after the procedure, and evaluate all the pros and cons. All contraindications and side effects must be stated. A qualified master will always show the client photos that show how the procedure sometimes ends.

Is permanent makeup for you? Here's what you need to know

Permanent makeup
can be a great option for those who wear makeup every day. But many of us don't know many people who have it, or rather, we don't realize when someone has it. This lack of widespread knowledge leaves the curious with a lot of questions about cosmetic tattoos.

So we sat down to chat with Maureen Donlan, owner of Chicago's Amazing Faces, who has been tattooing faces for over a decade. We thought about everything from how harmful permanent makeup is to how long it lasts. We even got her candid opinion on microblading (spoiler: it's not her favorite).

common types of permanent cosmetics

permanent eyebrows

Nowadays, thanks to America's obsession with perfect eyebrows, this is probably the most popular cosmetic tattoo request. There are three main types of permanent eyebrow techniques:

Blow me thod : This is exactly what it sounds like, with lightly applied lines to mimic the look of natural hair.

Microblading : Also known as eyebrow embroidery and 3D eyebrows, this technique provides an even more natural look by using tiny, ultra-thin blades. Looks very natural, but note: Maureen said the technique was too painful even for her to experience, and she has a high pain tolerance. However, one client who received microblading told us that she "felt a little discomfort, but no pain” after the stunning gel was applied (click here to read her microblading story). So it varies from person to person.

Powder Dust Brows : This technique involves thousands of tiny dots. Many people choose to combine this method with one of the other methods for an especially curvy look. Some feel that powder filling itself can look less natural due to the resulting definition and opacity. However, this technique deposits the ink deeper than other methods, which has two benefits: Powder-filled brows can last longer between touches , and they will last longer in older clients, whose skin typically loses pigment more easily.

Maureen, for her part, doesn't differentiate between methods, simply mixing and tweaking as needed.

Permanent eyeliner

Maureen recommends going a little dramatic, perhaps just applying a thin layer of ink to the top lash line and lining the bottom lid only if you regularly wear eyeliner there.

When our beauty editor received the permanent liner, she discovered that she only needed a little mascara each day to keep her eye makeup looking done. For special events or fashionable looks, she simply adds traditional eyeliner to the cosmetic tattoo for a thicker line or flick of a cat eye.

Permanent lip color

Deciding to have a permanent lip color means you have to go darker than you would like. Lip color can actually take on a harsh red tint when inked, but it's more natural and fades with eating and talking. Maureen knows that brightness sometimes scares clients with skittish lips, but she doesn't mind the words: “I'll tell them right away: If I go too easy, you’re just wasting your time and your money.”

You also need to decide on the shape. While many artists don't go beyond the natural limit, Maureen goes a little further to make the lips look a little fuller.

If you have lip color and have also had symptoms of herpes, your artist may advise you to start taking medication a few weeks in advance. Permanent makeup can have a glamorous effect, but the process involves abrasion of the skin, which can contribute to outbreaks.

“I’ll tell them right away: If I go too easy, you’re just wasting your time and money.”

Is permanent makeup right for me?

You should consider this if:

  • You just like the look and like the idea of spending less time getting ready.
  • You have an allergy or sensitivity to contact lenses, which may limit the types of traditional makeup you can wear.
  • You are a little older or have a medical condition that causes your hands to shake, making daily use a problem.
  • You want to cover up over-plucked eyebrows, alopecia, or scarring. Many permanent makeup artists specialize in what is known as medical tattooing, which helps camouflage certain conditions and restore the appearance of areolas for mastectomy patients.

You should avoid this if:

  • You are a perfectionist. While Maureen strives to look natural, she acknowledges that makeup has a specific look that clients need to be prepared for. “Some people are too picky to get permanent makeup,” she says. "As soon as someone says they're a perfectionist, it's like 'bye.'"
  • You are not ready to commit. If you like to constantly change your makeup, you may want to avoid this.
  • You have a phobia of needles. If the shine of the needle really bothers you, you can stick to traditional cosmetics.
  • You love fashionable looks. Fade fades faster than ink. No one knows this more than Maureen. While her brows are thick, she won't go past the natural brow line because "it will definitely look like it's changing." And when she closes her eyelids, she avoids cat eyes in case her tastes change in the future. One woman came to Maureen to camouflage a crooked cat's eye that had risen too high due to eye lift. It just couldn't be done, so Maureen had to turn her away.

"As soon as someone says they're a perfectionist, it's like 'bye-bye.'"

Do I have the right to permanent makeup?

Most people are eligible for permanent makeup. However, you may not be able to get permanent makeup if you have diabetes, bleeding disorders , or other medical conditions that affect your body's ability to heal. You also may not be able to get it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding , being treated for cancer , or recovering from open wounds or burns . And you should wait until all the active blackheads in the area have cleared up.

Consulting with your doctor can help you determine if permanent makeup is safe for you to wear.

Will it hurt?

Unfortunately yes. But how much depends on the area and the person. Again, Maureen thinks microblading is intense, while others say it's a little uncomfortable. And the lips are especially sensitive because they are so vascular. However, topical stunning solutions reduce discomfort, and, according to Maureen, "most people don't take pain medications." (If you are taking painkillers, make sure they are not aspirin, which thins the blood.)

How long does the meeting take?

Maureen says she has to be prepared for at least two visits, which last two hours each. This includes the actual care, care instructions and consultations.

How to cook

bring a picture

When you get your hair cut, you open Pinterest on your phone or apply an edgy marble bust to show the stylist what you want. You should do the same for permanent ink intended for your face so that there is no misunderstanding.

... and come to your consultation with your normal makeup.

This gives the artist an idea of what you like. “I prefer to let them draw in the eyebrows so they can see what they want,” says Maureen. The same goes for lips and eyeliner. Along with this day, some self-portraits taken in a well-lit area can help show the artist what you like. Be very specific and very honest about what you are looking for.

And while your makeup artist will help you find your color during your consultation, it's good to have an idea of what colors work best beforehand. The artist will then select a color combination for you.

Relax, just do it.

During the procedure, relax as much as possible so that the procedure goes as smoothly and quickly as possible. "I don't mind if people bring their own headphones," says Maureen, who praises the quietness of her new car compared to the clatter of her old one. “The machines I use are completely different from the machines I started with,” she explains, adding that they were much, much louder. The pigments are better too. In the old days they "turned brown, green or blue", but today they remain a stable brown or black color.

Post-processing, downtime and repair work

There will be swelling there and it may look "too dark."

Your skin may be swollen immediately afterward. The pigment will initially look darker than you expected, but it will soften over the first week or two.

Prepare for the itch—but no other real downtime drama.

Permanent makeup has little or no downtime. In fact, after half an hour of rest, many eyeliner clients will even drive themselves home. However, the skin has been through a lot, so give it time. Eyebrows and lips have a longer healing and wear time than eyeliner.

Keep the area moist while it heals.

In general, you will likely have to keep the area moist with a benzine or antibiotic ointment. Also try not to pick up scabs, as premature peeling can cause spots to fall out.

You will need to have touches every 12 to 24 months.

Permanent makeup ink is thicker than tattoo ink, which means it fades faster. Maureen's clients typically return for a refresh every 24 months, while other artists say the ink builds up on the skin after about 12 to 18 months. Different types also disappear in different ways. Lip color, as we already mentioned, fades faster due to the talking, eating and drinking we do on a daily basis. Your artist will help you create a touch-up plan and may even waive future appointments to keep your makeup looking fresh.

What is tattooing?

What is a tattoo? This is nothing more than introducing dye into the eyebrow area using a special needle. The principle of the procedure is not much different from applying conventional tattoos. The process is quite painful, so before deciding on it, you need to soberly assess the situation. Of course, if everything goes well, you won’t regret the results. After all, this makes it possible to have a well-groomed look at any time and not think about makeup. But not everything is so rosy. Very often, tattooing does not have very good consequences. We'll talk about them a little below.

Contraindications for eyebrow tattooing

There are direct contraindications to the eyebrow tattoo procedure:

Blood diseases of various types;

Sensitive skin;

The presence of the herpes virus in the body;

Diabetes;

Chronic diseases in the acute stage;

Pregnancy or lactation;

Any formation in the eyebrow area (mole, wart, papilloma, etc.).

Immediately before tattooing, it is not recommended to drink coffee or drink alcohol.

Self-preparation

Still, if you intend to carry out the procedure, consider an important step! The postoperative recovery process directly depends on it.

  • We self-scrub the skin of the lips for 7 days before the procedure.
  • In the morning, afternoon and evening, to soften the skin, apply a nourishing cream to the surface.
  • Before going outside, use special hygiene lipsticks.
  • 7 days before the procedure and 3 days after it, it is recommended to take Acyclovir for preventive purposes.
  • If you have a tendency to get frequent colds, then it is better to take an immunomodulator drug.
  • It is not advisable to drink alcohol or coffee within 24 hours

Consequences of eyebrow tattooing

You can often hear that tattooing leads to problems with your own eyebrows. These are rumors that are confirmed by very real cases. Eyebrow loss can actually occur due to the use of low quality dyes that destroy the hair follicles. Therefore, you need to approach the choice of the salon where you are going to carry out the procedure with increased attention.

Another unpleasant moment that can accompany the tattoo procedure is the wrong color of the dye. If a very intense shade is chosen, then the eyebrows look unnatural. Unfortunately, this side effect is quite common.

If you encounter an inexperienced artist, a common consequence of the procedure may be eyebrow asymmetry. Their irregular shape has a very negative effect on a woman’s appearance. Of course, this defect can be corrected, but this requires a repeat procedure, which can be carried out no earlier than a month later. This creates additional difficulties, because you will have to walk around with crooked eyebrows for a whole month. But this is a defect on the face and nothing can hide it.

If the procedure is unsuccessful, you will have to resort to removing the dye using a laser. This is a rather lengthy process that will take at least ten procedures. Reading the reviews, you will notice that this problem occurs quite often.

Another common negative consequence of the procedure can be an allergic reaction. Salons do not always use hypoallergenic dyes. Therefore, ask the master to conduct a paint test.

For several days after tattooing, ichor will be released. It forms a crust, which is strictly prohibited from being removed. By removing the crust, you automatically remove part of the pigment. Therefore, you need to wait until the crust comes off by itself. But if you want to wipe off the released ichor, you can do this with a damp cloth that does not contain alcohol.

The area where the tattoo procedure was performed may be swollen for some time. This is a natural process that completely disappears by the third day. But if how you look is fundamentally important to you, then you can take any antihistamine that has a decongestant effect.

Do not injure your skin with a towel. After washing, do not wipe the skin, but simply blot it and let it dry naturally. In the first two to three days, try not to get the tattooed area wet. Instead of washing your face, you can wipe your skin with ice cubes or makeup removers that do not contain alcohol.

Sometimes you can hear the opinion that in old age problems with eyebrows can arise if you overuse tattooing throughout your life. Many experts claim that this is not so. Problems can only begin when low-quality dyes are used. They can really damage the hair follicles and the hairs will fall out. This can be avoided if you choose a salon and a specialist wisely.

The harm of tattooing and how to remove it

For women who always want to look attractive, even at home, it is important that everything is perfect, but what to do if your eyebrows, for example, look far from perfect. Today, tweezers are increasingly being replaced by tattooing, but there is harm from eyebrow tattooing, and it is often not small, and it lies not so much in the lack of professionalism among specialists, but in the low-quality materials used for this. Very often, dyes are used for this, which are also used for painting cars, which means that they are most likely not suitable for the human body.

The harm of tattooing on the lips in this regard is also difficult to underestimate, and the harm of tattooing on the eyes is especially discussed, since it is not worth “joking” with the organs of vision, as this can lead to very serious consequences. The harm of eyelid tattooing, in particular, lies in the possibility of infecting a person with serious infectious diseases - it is likely that along with ideal eye contours you will receive an unpleasant surprise in the form of hepatitis or Staphylococcus aureus, and the worst thing is that you increase the risk get AIDS.

Every damage to the integrity of the body is stress for it, and in this regard, it is worth paying attention to the numerous mental disorders that arise in women who decide to use tattooing services. But this is not the main harm of tattooing for the body, since if the technology is violated and you have contraindications for this, a number of skin problems may arise in the form of complex skin diseases. Therefore, it is NOT recommended to make tattoos for people suffering from psoriasis and other skin problems.

Many today, realizing that they have made a mistake, are trying to get rid of tattoos and permanent make-up, so the question: the harm and benefits of laser tattoo removal in certain circles is being discussed today. The procedure itself is not complicated and almost painless, and it lasts only 5-10 minutes. The main thing is that after this you take proper care of the place of the former tattoo - for some time you should not rub these places, including with water, go out into the sun and visit the sauna. Most likely, you will need an additional procedure for laser tattoo removal, because to remove tattoos, you need to increase the power of the device gradually, which will help avoid serious consequences in the form of burns and swelling.

Permanent makeup will help make your makeup lasting and reduce the time for applying cosmetics. It is used for eyebrows, eye lines, lips. It is worth understanding all the pros and cons of eyebrow tattooing, its harms and benefits, before deciding on the procedure.

Tattooing at its core is the penetration (introduction) of pigment into the outer layers of the skin with a special needle. The puncture depth is microscopic, ranging from 0.3-0.5 mm, and causes almost no pain. But the eyebrow procedure is harmful for some people with absolute and relative indications. There are factors that can lead to complications. The decision to undergo an invasive procedure must be made after weighing all the pros and cons of eyebrow tattooing. Key points:

  1. Assess your health and exclude contraindications.
  2. Choosing a salon, master.
  3. Be prepared for the staged preparation and healing period.
  4. Religious prohibitions, for example in Islam.

If you choose the right specialist, tattooing the eyebrow area will not be harmful to a woman, but will bring only advantages:

  1. The pigment remains in the upper layers of the dermis for up to 2-3 years, which allows girls not to use decorative cosmetics and save on the purchase of makeup products.
  2. Another advantage is the complete imitation of regular makeup using shooting (drawing each hair).
  3. The geometry of the eyebrows can change your appearance; you can emphasize, highlight, correct imperfections or improve facial features. This can be achieved using powder and shadow techniques.
  4. With tattooing, you can significantly reduce the time spent daily on drawing beautiful eyebrows.
  5. There is no need to correct makeup on your face.
  6. It is worth doing eyebrow tattooing to eliminate congenital or acquired deficiencies in this area. The permanent makeup technique helps remove scars (after piercing, surgery, burns), camouflages lightened areas of vitiligo skin, and corrects areas of hair loss (alopecia).

The advantages of eyebrow tattooing are quite diverse and attractive. Before you decide, you need to evaluate all possible harmful consequences.

Cons of the procedure

Let's consider the moments that will accompany a negative experience that will be harmful to the health and appearance of a woman.

  1. Eyebrow tattooing is a painful and unpleasant cosmetic procedure.
  2. Safety of the procedure. Complications depend on the sterility of the office. It is possible for an infection to enter the wound during the injection of the dye or during the healing period.
  3. To avoid eyebrow troubles and harmful consequences, be sure to schedule a preliminary consultation. She is needed to evaluate a beauty salon and conduct an allergy test. The test is carried out several days before the intended procedure. Tattooing is harmful for girls with high sensitivity to allergens. On a small area of skin, most often this place is hidden from view (the scalp), the master introduces pigment. If there is a reaction to the dyes, then tattooing the eyebrow area is harmful, and its implementation is dangerous due to anaphylactic shock. Symptoms may not appear immediately, but after 3-4 hours. In the area of pigmentation there will be itching, redness, swelling, blister, soreness, increased body temperature, and weakness. It is urgent to remove the dye.
  4. An inexperienced artist can ruin makeup and incorrectly calculate the geometry that matches the type of appearance. Tattooing will be harmful. The consequences will have to be corrected either by a repeat procedure or by expensive and painful laser correction.
  5. The method of performing the procedure must be selected individually. Hardware tattooing of the eyebrow area is less dangerous. Manual permanent (from the English microblading) is a hair effect where a needle is used in a special pen-holder, shading occurs while the specialist’s hands move. Due to the inexperience of the artist, there may be severe scars after microblading blades. This specific technique is harmful for girls with a European type of appearance, the pigment in such skin will blur, and the eyebrow lines will not be clear. This tattoo takes longer to heal.
  6. Constant correction. Any person with extensive experience will not give a 100% guarantee that the result will be pleasing, the pigment will take root and the tattoo will not be harmful to health. The first correction is carried out 30-40 days after the first procedure. According to statistics, 50% of women may have pigmentation defects or gaps in color. Due to improper care of permanent eyebrow makeup or infection after the scabs fall off, areas may become discolored.
  7. Natural fading of tattoos occurs individually, on average after 1-2 years. Depends on the characteristics of the skin, the duration of exposure to the sun. Correction is again required to correct the fading.
  8. Hair loss. This situation is not uncommon. This happens due to damage to the hair follicles mechanically or due to harmful high temperatures using hardware technology. Women find it difficult to restore their natural eyebrow line.
  9. Natural healing processes create harmful scars on the eyebrow skin.
  10. A long period of rehabilitation after tattooing, which is accompanied by strict recommendations for caring for the area of permanent makeup. Antiseptic drugs and healing ointments are used. During the first months until complete healing, it is not allowed to actively engage in sports, visit baths, saunas, swimming pools, natural ponds, use eyebrow cosmetics, drink alcohol, sunbathe in the sun or in a solarium. If you are planning a trip to the sea in the summer, you should make a permanent appointment in early spring.
  11. High price of the procedure.

Only after assessing all the pros and cons of such a tattoo can you decide to carry out the procedure.

What are the consequences

Girls should be prepared for the fact that after tattooing, the skin in the eyebrow area will turn red and, possibly, swelling will appear. The crusts that may remain on the skin after a couple of days should not be torn off, otherwise injury and removal of part of the pigment may occur. A special cream must be applied to the skin to speed up healing and prevent complications. Complete healing will take about 10 days.

If you cannot tolerate any of the medications that will be used during the procedure, be sure to tell the specialist so that he can replace it with another one. Otherwise, an allergic reaction of the body may occur.

Most often, girls are unhappy with the color of their eyebrows if it is chosen incorrectly. It may be different from the one they wanted. If the color turns out to be very saturated, this can be corrected, but only immediately, while the tattoo is still fresh. To do this, gently apply a solution of hydrogen peroxide to your eyebrows several times a day, and then lubricate with any antibacterial cream to soften the skin. After about a week, the eyebrow color will become lighter.

It can also be disappointing. A girl may discover that this form does not suit her at all or that the master did his job poorly. The worst thing about this is that it will be very difficult to correct the shape or color of your eyebrows. This will require several sessions to achieve the desired result using the laser.

After the work of an inexperienced master, eyebrow hairs may fall out. In this case, temporarily stop using makeup and periodically lubricate the eyebrow area with peach, apricot or castor oil. And it is advisable to consult a doctor for advice.

The consequences of lip tattooing and eye tattooing can also be either good, or inflammation and swelling will appear. For the eyes, the consequences can be reduced if you lubricate the skin of the eyelids with a special cream. For the lips, the consequences can lead to the appearance of herpes if preventive measures are not taken in advance, at least a week before permanent makeup.

Indications for the use of permanent makeup

The prospect of getting an expressive face without wearing makeup every day is appealing to many women. However, some categories of people really need permanent makeup.

Tattooing can correct acquired or congenital defects of the lips, eyebrows or eyelids. With its help, you can correct facial asymmetry and disguise postoperative scars. It is ideal for women who suffer from allergies to cosmetics or have poor vision that prevents them from applying cosmetics themselves.

How to avoid troubles after tattooing

All of the troubles listed above can be avoided if you take the issue of choosing a tattoo artist very seriously. It is advisable to meet the girls who visited this master before you to see for yourself the positive result. Discuss with him in advance all the details of the procedure, read the list of drugs that he will use for this. If questions arise, they need to be discussed so that everything goes well later.

The master may offer to shave the eyebrows and only then apply a tattoo. We cannot agree with this; the shape of the eyebrows should be corrected by removing excess hairs using tweezers. Pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients with diabetes and asthma should be careful when using permanent makeup.

After any tattoo, you should not be in direct sunlight until complete healing. For the same reason, you should not swim in open water or go to the pool or sauna. It is also better to temporarily avoid scrubs and face masks.

In the beauty salon that a girl chooses, everything should be perfectly clean. The technician must work with gloves, the needles must be disposable, and the instruments must be sterile, otherwise the skin may become infected due to an infection.

Ideally, eyebrow tattooing should bring only joy; the client should have beautiful eyebrows that look natural after it.

Only real professionals can cope with such a task. But if you get a low-quality eyebrow tattoo, the consequences can be disastrous.

Tattooing has not gone out of fashion for several years. With the advent of such a convenient procedure, girls and women preferred to forget about natural beauty. It is much more convenient to have neat, symmetrical eyebrows than to draw and tint them every day. It’s true that a high-quality tattoo does not wash off and looks good for several years, but it turns out that no one, not even a professional in a salon, can guarantee 100% quality.

Permanent makeup - lip tattoo

Lip tattooing allows you to correct the shape of your lips, emphasize them and slightly increase their volume, and also eliminates the need to use lipstick or gloss every day.

Today in salons you will be offered full or partial lip shading (filling part or all of their surface with pigment). There are several varieties of trendy lip tattoo techniques: 3D technique, watercolors, permanent lipstick, and classic contour with shading.

All you have to do is choose a good master so that the result is as natural as possible!

Shading the contours of the lips is especially popular among women.

Thanks to this technique, lips become clear or blurry-natural. For permanent makeup, natural shades of lip colors and darker tones are used.

If a dark dye is used, a smooth shading is carried out, the width of which is about 0.5 mm. So, not only does the contour stand out, but the lips also become visually fuller.

Without shading, the lips look as if they were outlined with a pencil.

How to protect yourself from unsuccessful eyebrow tattooing

There are different masters. Whether you go to a salon or visit a cosmetologist at home, it is always better to carefully study customer reviews and their photographs. So you will see with your own eyes the possible result and think carefully before deciding on an expensive procedure in this particular place and with this person. Not all mistakes can be corrected later, and you will have to wear them for quite a long time.

Study the information on the topic - it is always useful, and especially since getting a tattoo carries certain risks for your health. There are absolute and relative contraindications to the procedure, such as chronic diseases or current complications. Performing tattooing if they are present is undesirable. The body's reaction to the introduction of coloring pigments into the surface layers of the skin can be unpredictable, despite the fact that all components are considered safe for health.

It is correct to draw conclusions about whether your experience in correcting your appearance was successful or not about a month after the procedure. Usually by this time it’s time to go to the specialist for correction, paint over the white bald spots on the slightly faded layer of paint and even out the tone.

More serious shortcomings, indicating the unprofessionalism of the master, or the fact that low-quality materials were used, are usually visible faster than a month, sometimes even immediately after the procedure.

Tattooing can be disappointing over time, this is another reason to think about whether you need the procedure

Can tattooing be harmful to the body?

Tattooing is harmful due to a complication - infection of the wound on the eyebrows, which occurs due to poor hygienic conditions in the specialist’s office and uncleanliness of employees. When choosing a salon, check the license to provide the service and the master’s medical book (it contains information about diseases). All replaceable parts of the machines - needles, blades - must be disposable, the packages must be opened immediately before the procedure. A tattoo specialist must conduct a preliminary survey to rule out harmful influences. The rooms should be clean, the couch or chair should be covered with disposable material, and the technician should wear gloves (worn before the procedure).

Find out information about sterilizers and disinfection practices. Infection with serious infections such as HIV or syphilis is unlikely, but theoretically possible. There are no proven cases of infection in a beauty salon after eyebrow tattooing. The human immunodeficiency virus, syphilis, is unstable in the environment, but if reusable needles are not sterilized, the master has a large flow of clients, the virus may well be transferred into the blood. Syphilis can survive for up to 5 days in a humid, warm environment on household items if hygiene rules are not followed. Danger of infection with hepatitis types C, B. People with such harmful infections in the latent stage can undergo tattooing procedures. Hepatitis viruses are tenacious and the likelihood of infection is 40 times higher than HIV. For penetration, a sufficiently small amount of blood with the virus is up to 0.04 μl. This amount is not noticeable, but dangerous. Tattooing is not harmful if reusable instruments are exposed to a high temperature of 120ºC for 30 minutes.

Introduction of bacteria into the wound on the eyebrows - staphylococcus, streptococcus. The first symptoms appear within a few days. Pus accumulates under the crusts, the temperature rises, swelling, redness, pain, and decreased vision are observed. This is a harmful complication, followed by treatment with antibiotics from a doctor.

In second place in a number of complications after tattooing are allergies and pigment rejection. Each girl has an individual intolerance to the components of the dye or anesthetic that is included in the composition. Anaphylactic reaction - harmful swelling of the larynx, sudden death from asphyxia. Only an allergy test can avoid problems.

Penetration of pigment into the upper layers of the dermis of the eyebrows when the body reacts to foreign substances with inflammation. The pigment is rejected in large quantities and after the crusts come off, lightening of the color and unpainted areas may occur. Inflammation is accompanied by a deterioration in general condition. Tattooing is harmful if the procedure was carried out during or after acute illnesses that weakened the immune system. Possible increase in body temperature, harm to health due to exacerbation of chronic inflammatory processes. There are frequent cases of herpes appearing due to a weakened immune system after tattooing the eyebrow area.

The opinion of cosmetologists about whether permanent makeup is harmful or not is divided. If at least one condition of sanitary hygiene is not met, then do not risk your health and find a more reliable beauty salon.

Consequences of unsuccessful eyebrow tattooing, reversible with correction in a month

Eyebrow correction is performed a month after the procedure by your specialist - and is half the price of tattooing. By this time, the swelling has completely subsided, the color of the pigment appears, the crusts from the healed micropunctures dry out and fall off.

All clients are usually invited to correction. As a rule, the choice remains with the woman, but any master gives a guarantee of the result only after a second visit. Then you can correct unsatisfactory tattoo defects:

  • the pigment color has faded, the color is too faded.
  • the coating is uneven, unpainted areas have formed along the entire length of the eyebrows.
  • due to swelling during the procedure, the contour turned out to be unclear, the shape of the eyebrows was slightly asymmetrical.

If the shape is incorrect, you need to either increase the width of the eyebrows or remove the tattoo. A good master will correct the shape a month after the procedure, when the swelling subsides. During the correction, the master can even out the eyebrows and make them the same color

These problems can be solved quite easily: the master applies paint of the same shade or, at your request, selects a different one, aligns the contour and shape, and completes the eyebrows so that they become the same.

By the time the procedure is repeated, the swelling subsides and it is practically painless. The final result is visible within a week, sometimes even earlier. If you follow all the recommendations of the artist, the tattoo will last up to 5 years.

Color correction to correct a bad tattoo

The technique of correcting unsuccessful permanent makeup using color correction allows you to remove an unwanted shade. The same method will help correct the shape of the eyebrows if they need to be made wider or longer.

The procedure is carried out by a special corrector:

  1. A concentrated chemical solution is prepared.
  2. The product is injected under the skin through micropunctures.
  3. A reaction occurs between the liquid and the pigment, causing the paint to appear on the surface.
  4. The master carefully removes the pigment.

The correction may be accompanied by pain and discomfort, so it is done in stages.

Unsuccessful tattooing in blue, red or gray colors is corrected by introducing a special pigment.

After correcting an unsuccessful tattoo with a color corrector, you can apply a brown pigment, closer to natural

To restore eyebrows that have acquired a bluish tint, use an olive corrector with the addition of yellow. The new color will be gray or light brown.

The tattoo turns blue when black pigment is introduced or when the tattoo is applied too deeply

To get rid of the blue color, several procedures are carried out until the natural gray or brown tint is restored. Eyebrows are painted using a line technique, applying a yellow or orange coloring pigment of a special corrector in an even layer.

Brown pigments are based on black, red, yellow and white.

The coloring pigment consists of several colors. Over time, under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, all its components are destroyed and removed from the body. Black, yellow and white colors gradually fade, but red, which is also in the base of brown eyebrow paint, does not. Because of this, any, even high-quality tattoo, can change its shade. Correcting the defect is not difficult; sometimes one procedure with an olive corrector is enough.

After this, the eyebrows will become light brown.

Consequences of unsuccessful permanent eyebrow makeup that can be eliminated by tattoo removal

In case of serious problems, if the tattoo is applied crookedly and apparently differs from natural eyebrows, there are several solutions:

Pros and cons of permanent eyebrow tattoo

While highlighting the pros and cons of eyebrow tattooing, it is worth noting that the procedure is not necessary for those with thick and healthy eyebrows. For those whose eyebrows require constant “rework,” the permanent is a salvation.

Properly executed tattoo of light and sparse eyebrows

The main advantages of permanent eyebrow makeup:

  • Always well-groomed eyebrows. A beautiful and correct shape will expressively emphasize the eyes and facial features.
  • Time saved on getting ready.
  • Long lasting results. Tattooing lasts on average from 2 to 6 years.
  • Natural execution techniques. They allow you to make your eyebrows look as natural as possible and complement your natural beauty.

High-quality eyebrow tattooing helps reveal external features and emphasize beauty.

Disadvantages of permanent eyebrow tattoo:

  • Difficulty and expense when removing pigment. If you are not satisfied with the result or get tired of the tattoo.
  • Possible eyebrow deformation. After the tattoo procedure, there is a possibility of extinction of your own bulbs and uneven hair growth.
  • The need for correction and repeat procedures. Correction is necessary to maintain the result. Constant repetition of procedures is provoked by “residues” after permanent treatment. When the pigment is removed from the skin, most often a strip remains under the natural eyebrow line. It can be covered again with pigment or by constantly tinting the eyebrows.
  • The duration of the result can be both a minus and a plus.
  • Long-term healing.
  • In today's fast-paced world, demands for female beauty are becoming more and more, but the time to maintain this beauty, on the contrary, is becoming less and less. As you know, demand creates supply - and so, modern cosmetologists and makeup artists vying with each other to praise the benefits of permanent makeup. At the same time, they guarantee “eyebrows like your own,” the deep look of Scheherizade, and lips like Angelina Jolie’s. This combination guarantees you an irresistible appearance, moreover, 24 hours a day!

Today we’ll talk about tattooing, is it a short-term fashion trend, or an ideal appearance forever? Are there hidden dangers to this procedure?

Possible complications after eyebrow tattooing

The regeneration period after tattooing may be accompanied by a feeling of discomfort and the body’s natural reactions to inflammation. Within 5–7 days after the procedure, the following is observed: The dried crust cannot be torn off, peeled off with nails, or combed, otherwise an infection will get under the skin

Fears of infection through an unsterile instrument are most often unfounded, especially if the procedure is performed in a salon. Infection of the injured surface of the eyebrows is possible only if there is a gross violation of sanitary standards or the use of unsterile instruments. As a rule, this is manifested by the formation of pustular rashes and is treated with antibacterial ointment.

An allergy can be not only to paint, but to painkillers

Individual reactions to the procedure can be unpredictable, such as excessive pain or a tendency to form keloid scars, when due to the large amount of connective tissue during healing, bluish or red-brown scars appear.

If low-quality materials are used, the procedure can cause hair loss.

Contraindications and care after the procedure

Any cosmetic procedure has weaknesses and contraindications. In most cases, permanent lip tattooing or makeup is not harmful. However, it involves intervention in the body, so you should make sure that there are no health problems. If you have a herpes infection, you should undergo a special examination. In this case, a special antiherpes long-term treatment program is prescribed. There are restrictions on tattooing; it is contraindicated on menstruation days. If you have any problems with the blood, such serious diseases as hepatitis or diabetes, you should refuse this make-up. Procedures of this kind cannot be performed when cancer is detected. Remember one more nuance: this procedure is not performed on damaged lips.

Before the procedure, lips must be perfectly clean and healthy. You should not drink alcohol for a few days. It is not advisable to visit the dentist for 15 days after the procedure. In general, permanent makeup is popular and harmless if you approach this cosmetic procedure correctly. It is made using high-quality, natural dyes. Now let's look at the main rules of care. During the recovery period, you need to thoroughly care for your facial skin. The recovery period after lasts from 3 days.

It is important to protect the skin from infection. It should not be exposed to ultraviolet rays. After permanent make-up, it is not advisable to go to the sauna or sunbathe. The fact is that the color pigment can be damaged. Tattooing cannot be covered with adhesive tape. Facial hygiene should be carried out using cosmetic milk. In rare cases, tattooing leads to herpes: it is recommended to take Gerpevir or Virolex a week before the procedure. After permanent makeup, lips are treated with oils and special creams to moisturize. To keep them in perfect condition, you should not drink hot drinks, at least at first. Otherwise, the tattoo will be damaged. Microscopic injections can leave lesions into which infection can easily penetrate. Therefore, try not to touch your lips with unwashed hands.
