Learning the art of an even and beautiful tan

Hydration

Tonics and lotions are considered one of the effective means for cleansing and moisturizing the skin in the summer.

Cucumber lotion

Making your own cucumber or green tea lotion is easy. The product will cleanse the skin of impurities and refresh it.

Recipe:

Finely chop the cucumber. Add 3 tablespoons of finely chopped cucumbers to a glass of milk and boil for 5 minutes. Remove the broth from the heat, chop the cucumbers and filter the mixture. The lotion improves complexion and moisturizes the skin. Store it in the refrigerator for no more than 3 days.

Green tea lotion ingredients

Before using green tea lotion, it is advisable to know your skin type. The lotion is prepared for dry and oily skin with minor modifications.

Recipe:

Mix two tablespoons of dry green tea and the same amount of 3% vinegar. Pour the mixture into a dark glass vessel.

Close the container tightly and shake thoroughly. Store green tea lotion in the refrigerator for no more than 4 days.

How to get a safe tan

Whether tanning will be beneficial or harmful depends on taking precautions. To figure out how to properly tan in the sun, you can consider the most popular questions that interest men and women:

1. At what hours can you sunbathe and why?

Experts recommend sunbathing under oblique sunlight, i.e. from dawn until about 10-11 o'clock in the afternoon, and in the evening - after 16 o'clock until sunset.

2. At what time should you especially not sunbathe?

It is especially dangerous to be under the sun from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Direct rays of the midday sun quickly lead to overheating, sunburn, and have a stronger negative delayed effect.

Knowing exactly what time is best to sunbathe, you must not break this rule! The sun's rays are very dangerous in the middle of the day; you should not stay under them for a long time. Such a tan will only cause harm.

3. How long can you sunbathe?

In general, it is recommended to stay on the beach (or other sunbathing place) for no more than 1 hour. It is also necessary to take a break every 10-15 minutes of lying in the sun. You can, for example, go for a swim in a pond or take a walk in a shaded place.

4. How long does it take to be in the sun to tan?

The question is very individual. Each person tans at a different rate and intensity. But everyone needs to observe moderation: it is better to sunbathe a little at a time and get an even, beautiful and healthy tan, rather than get sunburned on the first day and have many unpleasant consequences.

It is recommended at the beginning of the beach season to start sunbathing for 5 minutes on the back and 5 on the stomach , then gradually increase this dose to an hour of total time . This is how the skin gradually adapts to ultraviolet radiation.

5. At what temperature can you sunbathe?

If you are on the beach in the morning or evening, you will notice that the temperature at this moment is low. This is exactly what is optimal - 20-25°C , although people who are not prone to overheating can sunbathe at a higher temperature.

6. What tanning products should I use?

Tanning products and sunscreens must be selected individually. It is advisable to consult a cosmetologist. But the general rule is that tanning products should not be used on light, sensitive skin, especially at the beginning of the beach season.

Properly selected high-quality products will help you tan evenly and not burn in the sun.

7. How does swimming affect your tan?

When swimming, the water cools the skin, but ultraviolet rays penetrate under its surface to a depth of about a meter. Therefore, while in the water, a person also sunbathes, and after swimming you need to be under an umbrella.

8. How often should you change your body position when tanning?

For the most even and healthy tan, you need to turn over every 5-10 minutes. It is better to position your feet towards the sun, then the whole body will be evenly illuminated. You should not sleep on the beach - this increases the risk of sunburn.

9. Which areas of the body should be protected from the sun?

First of all, the head. It should be covered with a light-colored hat or scarf, especially when sunbathing on the back.

The face must be thoroughly treated with sunscreen, especially the nose and area around the eyes. And sunglasses are also recommended.

Breasts and genitals should also not be exposed to sunlight, so tanning topless or without a swimsuit is not recommended.

10. What is the difference between tanning at sea?

At the sea, unlike on the river bank, there is a breeze that creates coolness and makes the tanning process more pleasant. But it also carries the risk of sunburn because it masks excess radiation.

11. Is it possible to tan in winter?

The level of ultraviolet radiation in winter remains the same, so people who spend a lot of time outdoors have a tan on their faces all year round.

Cleansing

In order for the tan to lie evenly on the skin and look beautiful, dead skin cells are removed before sunbathing. Peeling and scrub do the job well.

  • Peeling is the exfoliation of dead cells with fruit acids. It can be used for any skin type; there are practically no contraindications.
  • A scrub is a mechanical cleaning and contains small solid particles of fruit. Before using this product, ask your cosmetologist about your skin type.

Dry or sensitive skin is easily damaged by mechanical cleaning. For those with such epidermis, it is better to use peeling to exfoliate dead cells.

Recipes for cleansing your skin

  • Squeeze lemon juice. Mix 2 tablespoons of juice with the same amount of sugar (preferably cane), add a teaspoon of sour cream to the mixture. The mass is applied to the face or body, trying to make as thick a layer as possible. After fifteen minutes, wash off.
  • Dilute the blue clay with a small amount of water to a paste, add a tablespoon of sea salt. The product is applied to the skin and massaged in circular movements. Wash off after 15 minutes.
  • Grind three aspirin tablets, add a teaspoon of water, and finally add 3 tsp. honey, stir. The product is applied to the face in a circular motion, lightly massaging the skin. Wash off the composition after 15 minutes.
  • Cut the grapes in half and massage your face and body. Wash off after 10 minutes.
  • Squeeze the juice out of the lemon, dip cotton wool in it and rub it along the massage lines, rinse off after 10 minutes.

After cleansing, you should not sunbathe immediately, so carry out the cleansing procedure a few days before the beach.

There is a time for everything: take your time to get a beautiful tan

Many girls, in pursuit of an even and beautiful tan, manage to soak up the ultraviolet rays for several hours on the first day, and then pay for their long stay in the sun with burns, sunstroke and poor health. But everything should be in moderation. On the first day of your vacation, try to stay under the sun for no more than 30 minutes, on the second day - no more than 45 minutes, and on all subsequent days - a maximum of 2 hours. At the same time, change your body position every 10 minutes: first sunbathe with your stomach towards the sun, and then vice versa. Also, take a dip in the water every 20 minutes.

If you tan gradually, you will avoid serious consequences, and your skin will get a beautiful shade.

Also, do not forget about the most suitable time for tanning. It is best to sunbathe in the morning from 8:00 to 11:00 and in the afternoon from 16:00 to 17:00.

Recipes for a quick tan

  • Remove the skin from the tomato and rub the pulp through a sieve. Add 10 drops of vegetable oil and one teaspoon of starch to this puree and mix thoroughly. Apply the mixture to the skin and leave for 20 minutes, rinse with water.
  • Mix the egg yolk with one finely grated carrot. Apply to skin. Wash off after half an hour.

So that, before the summer season, the skin gets used to ultraviolet radiation, visit the solarium 3-4 times (4-5 minutes each). Beta-carotene strengthens the tan, so after or before tanning, drink a glass of carrot juice.

Purchase vitamins for tanning at the pharmacy. Drops with beta-carotene are called “Vetoron”; they contain vitamins C and E. Before use, consult a doctor.

Skin protection

The sun and other unfavorable environmental conditions have a negative effect on the skin; in order to avoid these consequences, use protective products. For example: Nivea cosmetics contain a sunscreen for the face that helps avoid the appearance of wrinkles, while it moisturizes the skin and helps to get a beautiful tan.

Purchase cream or lotion with sun protection factor at the pharmacy. Such products will protect the skin from unwanted burns and help it tan evenly. When choosing a protective agent against ultraviolet radiation, they are guided by the type of epidermis. For dark and normal skin, sunscreen with a USF filter of 20 - 35 is suitable; for pale skin, the USF filter should be higher than 50.

When buying tanning oils in a store, pay attention to their protective factor. For example: Garnier Intensive Tanning Oil has a very low protective factor, it does not exceed SPF-2. People with fair skin should use oils with caution. Use them after the skin gets used to the sun. The oil is applied first to the feet, and after taking several sunbathings to the entire body. It is not advisable to use it on delicate facial skin.

How to make a beautiful, good skin tan

The prize for “sprint tanning” goes to a solarium with special “cream bells and whistles,” which include accelerator activators. This only takes about 20 minutes. This procedure is a one-on-one visit to the beach, but with minimal waste of time. Agree that such a good tan is suitable for those who really have their time calculated from start to finish. The solarium with shower is especially popular. During the session, the skin is moisturized with water (a la the sea) and the shade comes out more natural. However, no matter how wonderful a solarium is, it ages the skin just like the sun.

Self-tanning showers will take you only one hour of time, according to the “very fast” principle. A special substance is sprayed onto your body in a special cabin or applied with the help of a master’s hands. The result appears instantly and is suitable for cases of “really need to tan.” But this method has one big drawback - the tan washes off unevenly and leaves a picture on your body - “What does this mean?” A two-hour spray tan definitely falls into the fast category. But in terms of the duration of “wearing” it is not long. But this method is one of the most health-saving and prevents the skin from aging. The effect of dihydroxyacetone (this is the tanning substance) begins after a couple of hours, falling into the “embrace of the skin” and remains unchanged for three days. Experts studying skin diseases have agreed on one thing - this is the safest tanning.

Natural, long-lasting, gorgeous tan, photo
But how to get a beautiful and natural good tan? After all, summer is primarily about relaxing sunbathing. But here an unexpected picture may emerge - a “leopard tan.” Where do these spots come from? This is because the tanning hormone fails in certain areas of the skin and hence the appearance of light spots. This could be “helped” by antibiotics, sedatives and hormonal drugs, as well as low-quality protective cosmetics. You can try to even out the “leopard skin” using a hard washcloth, exfoliating agents or salt baths. Several such sessions will help even out an uneven tan. If the effect is zero, then it’s time to consult a dermatologist.

I would like to say only one thing. A beautiful, even and long-lasting tan is wonderful. But it's better if it's safe.
