His father, Yakov Aleksandrovich, worked as a dispatcher at the Radiodetal enterprise, and his mother, Svetlana Semyonovna, worked at the sanitary and epidemiological station.

In 1975, Igor Krutoy entered the Nikolaev Music and Pedagogical Institute at the conducting department. After 4 years of study, he was offered a place in the Moscow Panorama orchestra. Soon the guy began working at the Blue Guitars VIA.

In 1981, Igor joined Valentina Tolkunova’s ensemble, where he worked as a pianist. After some time, he was entrusted with leading this ensemble.

A few years later, Krutoy successfully passed the exams at the Saratov Conservatory for the composition department. He dreamed of becoming a famous composer, gradually approaching his goal.

Igor Yakovlevich Krutoy was born in Ukraine, in the small town of Gaivoron, in July 1954. The future composer's birthday fell on the zodiac sign Leo. The Krutoy family, Jews by nationality, in which, in addition to Igor, daughter Alla grew up, had nothing to do with art. Mom was a housewife, and dad worked at the local Radiodetal enterprise as a dispatcher.

At children's matinees, Igor Krutoy was already a good accompaniment to the school choir on the button accordion. Later he mastered the piano, and in the 6th grade the student organized an ensemble, which he led himself. Soon, not a single dance for high school students was complete without musicians.

After school, Igor Krutoy saw only one path for himself - to improve his musical abilities and continue playing. He became a student at the Kirovograd Music College, enrolling in the theoretical department.

After graduating from college, he taught accordion playing for a year at the Gayvoron music school and worked in a neighboring village as a music teacher, but in 1975 Krutoy became a student again. This time - the Nikolaev Musical Pedagogical Institute, where I chose the conducting department.

Here the musician first worked with Vladimir Migulya and Palad Bulbul ogly, and in 1980 he went to work at the Blue Guitars VIA. Soon the talented pianist was accepted into the ensemble of singer Valentina Tolkunova, where after a short time he became the leader.

In 1986, Krutoy achieved his cherished dream by entering the Saratov Sobinov Conservatory in the composition department. Igor wanted to compose music ever since he learned to play. Already in his youth he is gradually approaching this goal.

Music and creativity

In 1987, a significant event occurred in the creative biography of Igor Yakovlevich. He wrote the song “Madonna” for his friend Alexander Serov, based on poems by Rimma Kazakova. An interesting fact is that this composition became a laureate of the “Song of the Year” television festival.

After this, Krutoy wrote for Serov the songs “Wedding Music”, “How to Be” and “You Love Me”, also based on poems by Kazakova. These works gained popularity in the USSR, as a result of which the composer gained great fame among his compatriots.

Krutoy's first wife was a girl named Elena. In this marriage, the couple had a boy, Nikolai. After this, the composer married Olga Dmitrievna, who is currently a businesswoman and lives in New Jersey.

Igor Yakovlevich did not give in to his interests for a long time, as a result of which his programs and concerts were no longer shown on TV.

To resolve this conflict, Krutoy had to sell 75% of the shares of the MUZ-TV channel to the oligarch Alisher Usmanov. He later admitted that, under pressure, he could not create new projects due to lack of inspiration.
