Potato casserole with cheese and sausages in the oven

One of the simplest, budget-friendly options for this dish is potato casserole with sausages. As usual, it is especially popular among bachelors and students. But in a large friendly family it is also often prepared. After all, you don’t always have a lot of time to prepare meat products. And the sausages are not only very tasty, but they are almost ready to eat

Ingredients:

  • 5-7 medium sized potatoes
  • Salt and ground pepper to taste
  • 300 g sausages
  • Half a liter of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. l. mayonnaise
  • 200 g cheese
  • vegetable oil

Preparation:

First of all, let's preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Wash and peel the potatoes. We cut off all the black dots and other suspicious fragments, if any. Cut it into circles, about one centimeter thick or a little less. To speed up baking, you can pre-boil it until half cooked.

Grate the cheese with a grater. Place in a bowl. Pour milk here, add mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste and break the eggs. Stir everything until maximum homogeneity

Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil. If desired, you can use soft butter. We will conditionally divide all the ingredients into 2 parts. First, lay out half the potatoes.

Then part of the sausages, cheese mass

Repeat the layers and place the mold in a hot oven. If desired, you can grate frozen or cut soft butter on top. But this is optional. We will bake for about 40 minutes; if you boil the potatoes first, it will take less time – 20 minutes.

How to cook “Mashed Potato Casserole in the Oven”

1. We immediately need to prepare the minced meat. I usually buy ready-made, and if you have the opportunity to prepare it at home, it will be even better. Add the egg to the minced meat, salt and season everything to taste, then mix thoroughly so that the consistency of the minced meat is uniform.

2. Boil the potatoes, crush them only with the addition of butter and two eggs. It should be beaten thoroughly. Meanwhile, grease the baking dish.

3. Spread the mashed potatoes as the first layer, place the minced meat on top and cover with another layer of mashed potatoes.

4. Sprinkle all this on top with cheese and send it to bake in the oven.

5. Bake our dish in the oven for about 45 minutes. After that, let it cool a little, cut it and serve.

First, you need to prepare half a kilogram of minced meat (it is better to take beef, as its taste is more intense). You will also need 10 potatoes (if large, then 8 are enough), onions and green onions, a little grated Dutch cheese, 2-3 tablespoons of sifted flour, the same amount of sour cream, some breadcrumbs, as well as salt and spices. First, peel and boil the potatoes, lightly salting the water first. Now you need to puree it, leave it to cool, and in the meantime start filling. The minced meat should be fried in a frying pan with onions and spices. Now add sour cream and flour to the potatoes, then divide the resulting “dough” into 2 parts. The first one should be placed on a greased form, sprinkled with grated cheese and covered with minced meat. Next comes green onions, cheese again, and on top it all needs to be covered with a layer of the remaining potatoes. Before putting the pan in the oven, sprinkle the casserole with breadcrumbs. When a golden brown crust appears, the dish can be considered ready.

Casserole with minced meat and mushrooms

This version of the casserole is very filling and incredibly tasty. It can serve not only as an everyday dish, but also as a holiday dish. You will need 800 grams of potatoes, half a kilogram of mushrooms (it is better to take champignons) and the same amount of minced beef, a couple of onions, a little tomato paste (literally 1-2 tablespoons), a glass of cream, grated cheese and spices.

First of all, turn on the oven to start preheating. Now cut the potatoes and boil them a little for 5 minutes. Chop the onion and place half of it in a frying pan with heated oil, along with the mushrooms. When they are almost ready, add salt and spices. Place the mushrooms in a separate bowl, and add the remaining onion and minced meat to the frying pan, to which tomato paste, cream and spices are added a few minutes before cooking. Now return the mushrooms to the pan and simmer the filling for a few minutes.

Now move on to assembling the casserole. Place half of the minced meat on the bottom of the greased form, followed by a layer of potatoes. Sprinkle the second layer of minced meat with grated cheese and place in the oven. In half an hour, the dish will be ready and all that remains is to sprinkle it with fresh herbs.

Potato and chicken casserole

This recipe is distinguished not only by its refined taste, but also by its speed of preparation. For it you will need a chicken breast, half a kilogram of mushrooms, 7 potatoes, onions, a glass of cream or sour cream, a little grated cheese and spices.

First of all, you need to peel the potatoes, cut them into thin slices and fry in oil until half cooked. The chicken needs to be boiled and finely chopped. Now you need to fry the mushrooms in oil. To prepare the sauce, you need to sauté the flour and then mix it with the cream. The mass should simmer for about 4 minutes.

Layer the potatoes, chicken, mushrooms, and potatoes again into the pan. Before putting the dish in the oven, pour the sauce over it and sprinkle with cheese. In 15 minutes the dish will be ready.

You will need a kilogram of potatoes, 500 grams of minced meat, onions, 5 eggs, spices, 5 tablespoons of flour and butter (a little).

Boil the potatoes, first cutting them into small cubes. By the way, for this process you can also use a multicooker turned on in a special mode. Onions along with butter, salt and minced meat can also be fried using this device. Mash the potatoes and, when they have cooled, add eggs, flour and some dried aromatic herbs. It is better to use a mixer or blender to make the mass airy and homogeneous.

The bowl of the multicooker should be generously greased with butter and vegetable oil and sprinkled well with breadcrumbs. Now layer the potatoes and minced meat. The top layer of mashed potatoes can be sprinkled with spices and also a few pieces of butter. The onion needs to be coarsely chopped (preferably into half rings), then fried in sunflower oil. Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater and mix with flour. The eggs need to be beaten and also placed in a bowl with the potatoes. Place potatoes and onions on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle the dish with cheese on top and bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes.

Sausage casserole recipe

In order not to fool your head with minced meat, you can use your favorite sausages as a filling for the casserole. So, for a kilogram of potatoes, take 5 sausages, 3 eggs and 100 grams of hard cheese, which needs to be grated. Salt, spices and herbs will be used as flavoring additives.

Potatoes need to be boiled, peeled, grated and placed on the bottom of the mold. Next comes the grated cheese. The sausages, in turn, should be cut into circles and laid on top of the cheese layer. Cheese again. Top everything with beaten eggs, salt and pepper. It will take about half an hour to bake the dish, after which it can be decorated with finely chopped herbs.

Potato and cabbage casserole

In order to prepare a tasty and healthy vegetable casserole, you will need 200 grams of cabbage (preferably young, as it will be more tender) and the same amount of potatoes (a little more can be used), 1 small carrot, a tablespoon of butter, crackers, pepper and salt.

The cabbage needs to be washed, removed from dirty and spoiled leaves, and then finely chopped. Boil water, add salt and boil the cabbage in it until fully cooked. If you want the dish to be especially tender, you can use milk instead of water. Now you need to transfer the cabbage to a colander so that it drains well. Also boil or fry the carrots in a frying pan, chop finely, or grate them.

Now you need to start preparing the potatoes. It needs to be peeled, cut and boiled in water that has been previously salted. Now add the oil and make a smooth and homogeneous puree. Mix the cabbage with the puree and add spices if desired.

A mold or frying pan with high sides should be greased with melted butter, and to ensure that the casserole does not burn, sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Place the resulting mass in a mold (potatoes, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, cheese) and also sprinkle breadcrumbs on top. To make the crust golden, you can grease the surface of the casserole with butter or spread out small pieces of it.
